Which was your favorite, and why?

We're a family of 3 (me, DH, DS 3.5), and I'd say so far my favorite was the WL (well, technically, it was the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge~we got a nice upgrade!!). We were only there for one night. It was a spur of the moment trip, and we didn't go into the parks, but it had been such a crazy few weeks, and we were all just exhausted and worn out. We walked into the WL, fully expecting our parking lot view room, and were instead asked if we'd like to have a 1BR Villa for the night! Of course we would!! Now the Villa was wonderful, it was so nice to have all that space... but the best part, for me, was just sitting out on the balcony late that night. We had a woods view, I guess, but we overlooked the bus stop. Even with the buses coming and going, it was so quiet and peaceful... and for one night we were able to forget how busy "life" was and enjoy those moments. I really felt as though I were in a different world.

We've also had great stays at the BWI, and CR (there, on our honeymoon, we were upgraded to concierge!)...and have even enjoyed our stays at ASMo and PC~well, minus the flushing toilets!! But WL really did it for me. So much so that we've rearranged our budget for January, and are staying there for 10 nights! I just hope it won't be too cold to sit out on the balcony! :goodvibes

So what's your favorite?

Stayed in everyone but the values and Boardwalk (on my list) favorite is BC for the pool and proximity to EPCOT and Beaches and Cream cheeseburgers

Probably the Yacht Club and then the Poly lagoon view concierge. With that said, we've loved all of the resorts we've stayed in for different reasons. :wizard:

I think I read a trip report from you about that! (Really good report, too!) My favs so far are POFQ & AKL. Followed closely by the 2BR OKW, but I suspect SSR will be right up there!

We stayed at CBR, WL, and the AKL. Even though the animals are awsome at the AKL, WL is still my favorite hotel that I've actually stayed at. The look of it from far away, the lobby, the rooms, the overall theming is perfect. And it's not that expensive compared to the CR, Poly, and the GF.

Contemporary- My very first stay at WDW. I thought it was cool, but not all that impressed with the themeing, but hey, I was just a kid then.

Carribean Beach- With family, loved the beach and hammocks and all the colorful buildings.

Port Orleans French Quarter- Was okay. Cool pool.

Grand Floridian- Just with the girls before my wedding. Beautiful! Makes you feel like you are truly in the lap of luxury! The softest beds I have slept in.

Boardwalk Inn- For Honeymoon. Very festive resort, fun atmosphere. Large room, we got an upgrade. Didn't really spend too much time here though. Is a definite must do again!

Port Orleans Riverside. Stayed here with new husband. Was excited that I was finally staying at the "Mansion" resort. Lovely, Lovely resort! The magnolia bend buildings are beautiful, but the rooms are just average. WE got a really good deal at the time we stayed here I and I think it was worth every penny and then some. Would definitely stay here again!

Staying at The GF again in a few days. Finally with my DH.

Of all the Disney resorts I have stayed in my favorite is All Star Music.

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

All Star Music is my favorite. It is quieter because more couples stay there. I love staying at the Clypso building. It is closer to the pool, food court and bus stop.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!

As you can see by my signature I've stayed at most. Not to hedge....but.... I really have found all to have their unique experiences and merits. I like different things about each resort. :goodvibes

IF I had to choose one...I'd say the POLY. It was my first back in 1971...(dating myself)... :rolleyes1 and STILL my favorite!

We've stayed at All Star Sports, CBR and AKL and off-site other times.
AKL was our favorite. It was just a relaxing, peaceful place to stay. All Star Sports was just a little too hectic for us. We liked CBR, just not as much as AKL. We really want to stay at WL and were going to stay there last time, but got a code for AKL for $135 per night and couldn't pass that up.

BCV for all of the reasons noted above, but we're very much looking forward to AKL in August.

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I've stayed at Contemporary, AKL, WL, all the mods and all the values. The only ones I didn't like were the All Stars (will never stay there again). Of the Deluxe my favorite is AKL, of the mods it's CSR and of the Values it's POP.

With the exception of the All Stars, we have enjoyed all of our stays (over 60). There are things at each resort that we love and things that we don't like (Alligator Bayou at POR as a don't like comes to mind but we love Magnolia Bend, the pool at WL is too small, the Contemporary lacks Holiday Decorations etc).

We've made the mistake of staying off property a few times but learned our lesson.

I do have favorites! This is how I rank it.
~Polynesian~ for best resutarants (Kona Cafe and Ohana) and have entertainment dining (Spirit of Aloha!)-- Great pool! Awesome slide! I enjoyed sliding down, it was so fun!-- Beautiful beach-- You can watch "Wishes" and EWP from the beach/pool-- the room is big and can fit 5 guest-- Excellent transportation...resort on monorail..boat access...and bus too. Atmosphere is just simply gorgeous and exotic! Very well themed. My summer resort.

~WL~ the whole resort is breathaking, especially during the holiday! The lobby is just truly amazing!. And the view from the courtyard....beautiful!! I enjoy standing in the balcony watch the beauty of nature.-- Whispering Canyon.. great food and fun staff...but can get too LOUD!-- the room is nicely done...bunk beds are great!-- I love the hot tubs! They have two hot tubs there! The whole ground is just spectacular!-- You can see fireworks from certain area and view the EWP. The transportation is great...boat ride or a quick bus ride to MK is great! The bus ride to other parks are very good too. My winter resort.

~French Quarter~ the whole resort is quaint and charming! Truly very pretty and very peaceful!-- The resort is small and easy to get around. -- Great food court...lots of varieties and very tasty. Very nicely themed...mardi gras props hanging from the ceiling-- The pool is very fun and nicely themed. The transportation was good. Though we had to stop at the Riverside, we don't always stop at all 4 depots there. This is what happened most of the time...POFQ always gets picked up first (so there's always room to sit) and then to Riverside and stop at the South depot and leave to the park. Going back to the resort from the park was no problem.. we never waited more than 15 minutes.-- Boat transportation to Downtown Disney is wonderful!! It is very relaxing. and it drops you off right there in the middle of Marketplace which is great! Less walking for us! Beniegts!!! Gotta have them!! My anytime of the year resort!!

~ASmovies~ It holds special memories for me... and this is our very first Disney resort with my husband and children (besides our one night stay at CBR-YUCK!)

~POP~ 3x
~CSR~ 2x
~ASSports~ 2x
~CBR~2x.. twice they failed me. cockroaches in the room on my two trips! Clogged up tub...wet carpet (not damp..WET!)...the AC was overflowing with water (they really never did fixed it, they just dumped the water out which started the water to flow again)... had to sleep with the carpet blower on for 2-3 nights! I have them another chance... and they failed me again on the second try. Should I try for a third one?? That's okay... the resort is too big for me anyways... And the pool seem kind of small for a big resort like that. No wonder the pool is always crowded.

This is based on my experience and my opinion... so please no debating please.
I copied this from my other post. :)

AKL. Just looking out to see the animals.. Hard to top.

Followed by YC/BC. love the location (including the BCV)
SSR, Just fell in love with the location and theme.
OKW... HUGE rooms, quite and relaxing.
CBR, love the themeing and the landscaping
All Stars Just plain FUN

Port Orleans.. I am so so about it.. I like some buildings but others remind me of cheap southern apt buildings
BW.. So so on this one too.

CSR... Two stays both disasters. Dirty rooms, indifferent service etc. Like Fantasia I am hesitant to give them another shot. The only reason I would is for high speed interent (I sometimes have to work while at Disney) and they are now putting it everywhere

GF. NEVER AGAIN!! I can get better nicer service at the All Stars. The worst Disney experience and they call this the flagship.... :rotfl2:

Limited here! Been to WDW 32 times and have stayed at:
  1. All Star
  2. Beach Club
  3. Wilderness Lodge
  4. Animal Kingdom
  5. Old Key West
  6. Boardwalk

Hands down - Old Key West - a close second would be Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I really like them all have not had a bad stay at any of the ones I have stayed but my favorite was POFQ it was very compact, I had a great room location close to everything :goodvibes at the time it was my first trip without beloved husband and I had a toddler to tote along, so it being compact was easier on me

Yacht Club is our all time favorite. Love the Epcot area, theming, pool, atmosphere.

Have stayed in and liked all the deluxe's though.

The Boardwalk Inn, hands down!

Followed VERY closely by the Contemporary. If it were up to me, Id live in the Contemporary and goto the Boardwalk for vacations. :3dglasses

I've stayed almost everywhere (there are still a few left to try: GF, Yacht/Beach, Boardwalk). I have different favorites for different moods, so it's kind of hard for me to narrow down.

I think the best stay I've had was in the Contemporary Tower.... you can't go wrong whether you face the Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake. And the convenience can't be beat.

My current favorite is AKL, assuming you have a savanna view. I wanted to spend more time on my balcony watching the animals than I did the parks!

If I'm on a budget (which I seem to be lately), Pop Century can't be beat. :teeth:

Wilderness Lodge and Poly also are high up there on the list. Hmmm..... but I liked the Swan, too.

Just can't decide! :teeth:

We have stayed at several. Old Key West is my favorite mostly for the atmosphere and the best hospitality and friendliest staff at Disney. Running a close second would be the Yacht Club for it's convienence to the Boardwalk and EPCOT. We have never had a bad stay at any of the hotels / resorts we have stayed at over the past 32 years.
