Odds on a Christmas party?

What’s everything odds on a Christmas party at this juncture?

We have passed the day (Sept 10) of the announcement last year. I also thought there was a small chance of a D23 announcement if it coordinated with something else that was coming. That didn’t happen either.

So what’s your odds? I am down to 40%. I am trying to plan AROUND one so this is good news IMO.

I asked in the Chat feature in the app, not expecting a straight up answer. No answer at all yet. I just want to pick my 2 days and have them be party-free! I was burned by OBB last year... after having made hotel reservations and bought plane tickets....and then they announced the party dates.

I’m worried too. I delayed buying tickets thinking I’d buy a day less if there was a party and get a party ticket that day-finally pulled trigger and bought tickets plus genie for all our days-8 people so a lot of cash. I’ll be super annoyed if they add a party now.

I just heard back.

"At this moment we do not have anything announced for Christmas time. That can change, so I would advise you to stay connected to the Disneyland website."

So nothing we didn't already know. 😄

Disneyland only offered Merriest Nites last year as their first ever Christmas or Holiday themed ticketed event.
No where did they ever say it would be recurring or even return.
I believe this was assumed by many based on it selling out and having limited days, no to mention that WDW gets their holiday parties every year.

I attended Merriest Nites on the last party and it was amazing , I would do it again in a heartbeat.
For those waiting for an announcement just to book your vacation , I wouldn't expect it but be surprised if it did.
The official website and Dinsey Parks Blog are your best official sources.
Don't miss festival of the holidays in California Adventure though , because that is always wonderful.

So agree on this! There were so many naysayers on this party LY and I thought it was super fun. Hubby and I went with 4 other couples and we had a blast. It just felt extra special. Holiday magic.

And, yes! Great advice on the special Holiday food and drink booths in DCA. Worth it!

I hope that they don’t repeat it. It was expensive, and other than the Muppet show on Main Street, which I LOVED, it’s not a repeatable event for me. I also think it takes away from what Disneyland has offered all guests celebrating the holidays.

The Muppet show on Main Street looked interesting on videos I watched last year. I would like to see it in person. Maybe they will add the Muppet part to the Christmas parade, although probably not. I can hope and dream though.

My kids and grandkids enjoyed it last year, although food was a pain. Muppets were great, as was the projections on Main St. If they offer it again, we'd have to think about it.

Total speculation but I’m going to bump my 1% to 50% based on these observations. So I just looked at the “My Day” tab on the app and noticed Disneyland’s park hours are listed from 9:00am-9:00pm on 11/10 and 11/11 (which is the start of the Holiday Season). The park close time is exceptionally odd given that I have an Oga’s ressie for 10:30pm.

Could there possibly be a Merriest Nights party on the horizon??? Thoughts??

Could be something but those have been the standard posted hours until they update the calendar. They just loaded in October hours..

I also attended last year and have to agree that the Muppet show was great, but difficult for a lot of people to watch and not something I'd go to again due to the price. I just did OBB this week for the first time and that event was 100% worth it. It was so hard at Merriest Nights to see any characters without waiting in the longest line but at OBB you can see tons of villains riffing with guests at the treat trails with hardly any wait.

However, one magical moment at Merriest Nights that made that event worth it to me that night was they had a mariachi band up on the Golden Horseshoe building when I was on the top floor of the Mark Twain waiting for the ship to leave. They did the loveliest version of When You Wish Upon a Star and listening to that song and seeing the Matterhorn and castle from that viewpoint, it all worth it. It reminded me why I love going to Disneyland and how lucky I am to be able to go at least once a year. Even now, it makes me tear up just thinking of that moment.

I am really hoping there is one.
this is our first time going for holiday decorations and I want a party! I want to be fully immersed in the christmas spirit LOL

I have 5 day tickets but we have 7 days total, I left Tuesday as a blank day as I am hoping it will be a party night and we can get tickets for it. If it doesn't come, so be it but I really hope it does.
