Odds of getting OKW studio at 7 months Dec. 12-22

I am a DVC member owning at SSR and we thought we'd like to try something different (and save a few points) by staying at Old Key West in Dec. 12th-22nd.

What are the odds a studio will be open there at the 7 months window (preferably one near hospitality house)?

I'd say the odds are quite good. Like SSR, OKW is a large resort with many studios. You may not get Near HH, but even so, OKW has a lot to offer. Many OKW owners, myself included, prefer the areas away from HH, as they are generally quieter...so you may even get lucky with Near HH.

thanks for the quick response... I wasn't sure being near the holiday season and lower points (in Dec) if these would fill up quick by owners but sounds like I might have a shot

If we're not near the hospitality house... do we just hop on any bus to get to HH or is there parking if we want to drive there?

not much parking. but i'm pretty sure all the buses stop at HH before leaving for the parks.

I hope this means that I might have some luck getting an OKW studio for ten days next January (over marathon weekend). I contacted DVC Rental Store. The issue isn't studio availability, it's that there aren't any owners with available points. I never even considered that!

I'm trying my luck with David's DVC rental but it looks like I might have to wait until seven months. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

We were able to get a two bedroom at OKW over christmas 2012 at 5 months out. It was no where near HH but that was okay.

I got into OKW at Christmas three days out. Yes, three days. Probably pure luck..

That period for Dec 2012 was open for a studio at OKW at 7 months out except for HH units for which some of the days were full before 7 months out.
