Odd question from an American new q post 91

Sorry, I haven't checked this thread in a while. What I was meaning was that Mars Bars obtained in the US have the same filling as our Milky Ways and vice versa; I thought this sounded ridiculous but my friend bought a Mars Bar in the US just to prove it and she was right!

Also, "que" is spelt "queue"; "hagas" spelt "haggis" (and it actually doesn't taste anything like what you might imagine - I'm not a big fan but it's quite palatable and savoury).

I don't get most of the cockney rhyming slang at all. But then I'm Scottish!

Are your mash the same as our mashed potatoes? If they are then we put beef gravy, chicken gravy, turkey gravy, and pork gravy on it which ever the main meat of the meal is. When I make chicken fried steak I make a white gravy.

Thank you-yes mash=mashed potatoes.Yes that is the same as what we do in the UK-with our gravy. But when trying to explain that to a waiter/waitress i still get some strang looks+i still don't know what to ask :confused3 .x.

Just ask for mashed potatoes and gravy. Maybe they look confused because they're trying to figure out from your accent where your from. We love us an accent round here.:)

Thanks-will try again next year.

Now explain your fried eggs to me-all the times i have been to the US i never know what to ask for.I like my fried eggs(cooked of course  )but i like a runny yellow centre-not hard.So i can dip my sausage links in them.x.

Order eggs over easy or sunny side up.

My kids loke it that way too. We cut a hole in a slice of toast and fry it with an egg in the whole, they call a dip-dip egg in our house (so they can dip-dip).

sorry about my spelling. I know what you mean by something not tasting the way you think it would. A big thing around here is Rocky Mountain Oysters. If you dont know what they are it is thinly sliced bull testicles, battered and fried. THey are not half bad I only eat them once a year, tastes like chicken.

Over easy will result in a soft yolk also a bit runny white at times...I usually ask for over medium (can't do runny whites:scared1: ) this usually results in a soft yolk firm white at times the yolk may have firm outer edge...depends on the cook.

Really? I always order mine over easy so I can get the dipable yolk, but the whites are firm. I can't stand runny whites either. Sunny side up is almost always runny whites.

like I said depends on the cook...I've had too many runny white over easy to risk it (personal preference) would rather have a slightly firm yolk than a runny white.....just grosses me out.

Cheers guys :thumbsup2 .I also can't stand runny whites-bleurghhhhhhhh.I am sure i will think of some more things to ask you all.

almburr-we also do the toast with the hole cut out of the middle :thumbsup2 .
Also love a soft boiled dippy egg with toasted soldiers. And as for Rocky Mountain Oysters-bleurghh :scared1: .x.
