Being new to the forum I must say that there is an amazing amount of information here.
I have been lurking around for a couple days now, but have been unable to find one bit of information. We are planning our trip for this October and I was wondering how to find info on any major conferences happening around or in Disneyland 10/20 - 10/25. The only reason I ask is because of our last two October visits were very different and I would like to get some sort of expectation. The first trip was next to no crowds and no waits which was very enjoyable we rode the coaster at DCA three times once without getting out of the car. The last October trip seemed like we were there during the high season. That could be due to the 50th and I assume some major convetion or show at the same time.
It wont change any of the plans, just how we approach things.

Thanks,

Welcome to the Disboard, PDuck!! :yay::banana::hippie:

I know someone has posted the convention center websites with your requested info....hopefully they'll see this.

Maybe post again asking about the Convention Center Conferences in the Title? (or just edit the title of your first post?)

Have a great time in October:thumbsup2

October is so popular now! It is busy because arizona has fall breaks and so does utah. Add to that the TOTP and all of the fun treats and decorations that are exclusive to this time of year and you get crowds. I wouldn't consider it off season anymore.

Be careful going in October, Gay days is in October, so if you have little kids it might be uncomfortable. i think it is the 1-6th though so you should be fine, if you do go during gay days dont wear a red shirt it means your gay, single and looking, we unfortunatly went to WDW during gay days and the Cast Members warned us about the attire, it was a little uncomfortable for my kids aswell but we got there at the end of gay days so only the 1st 2 days of our trip were awkward, the rest of the time was regular fun ol disney.

We were there October 2005 (19-23) and crowds weren't bad. Like PP said, October is getting busier with the Halloween events. The week you are looking at has Trick or Treat parties Wed-Fri. Definitely check the Convention Center website, but be aware there are also conventions not listed because they are at local hotels.

Here is the Anaheim Conv Center Calendar. If you click on the name of the group it will tell you the location they have reserved in the center. That will help give you an idea of the number of people. For example, we are so lucky to be going when the ASIS convention is occurring in Sept and they have the whole facility reserved. That tells me that hotel rooms are going to be scarce and I am a little worried about our rental car cost.

As others noted, October is becoming quite busy because of fall breaks and the Mickey's TOT Parade Celebrations. Halloween time at Disney is becoming a huge draw.

Hope this helps.
