October Trip. Cancelled Our Poly Stay

Been planning our stay at the Poly since March, but I got a deal for OKW that was just too good to pass up, so we are cancelling the Poly.

It was a hard decision, but somebody I've rented DVC points from before offered me a 2 bedroom at OKW for $1,000 for the week and we decided to take it. Cheaper and bigger and I do love OKW, but still I was really looking forward to the Poly.

I'm a big fan of OKW and I know we'll still have a wonderful time, so it's all good, but I'm still can't help being a little bummed.

Oh well, maybe I'll be able to get a really good deal on Poly for May 2009, something to look forward to.

That is a great deal, I paid for rented points 880.00 for a week for a studio before..

That's too bad... but hey, you got an excellent deal at OKW and we wouldn't pass up that offer either, even if we were booked at the Poly's concierge. You'll still have a great trip and many happy memories no matter where you stay!

Ya know I just did the same thing. I cancelled CR MK View one room to 2 rooms at POP and saved a total of $3000 plus we get our own room. Yeah I was a bit bummed but I get to spend all that extra money on stuff for me.!!!!

And just think of all that $$$ saved. Maybe you can use it towards an upgrade to the Poly concierge...??

Believe me, I'm still very excited about our trip and know it will still be wonderful. First MNSSHP, First Food & Wine Festival, First time rest of the family will get to see the new HM, First time riding Toy Story Mania, First time at Narcoosee's...lots of exciting stuff. I'm mostly bummed for sentimental reasons. Poly was first place I stayed on first trip to WDW waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when.

and the OKW is so nice...and you'll have all that room and the living room is HUGE....and the bathrooms and the storage..wow...

we've only stayed in the 2 br at the OKW and it's FANTASTIC!!!!!!

and i agree - use the money you save this time for an upgrade next time to poly concierge
it's the only concierge we've never stayed in and after hearing the review last week , i'm very sorry we didn't.......

This made me think...the one piece of advice I give people when they ask me for "Dis" advice is to not sweat planning details about their trips. It is hard to have a bad time at Disney (unless you have bad weather that won't quit, skunks in your travel party or just really want to be miserable) and who knows, maybe you'll be back again some time.

A good deal is hard to pass up.

That is so AWESOME!!! I would drop my Poly reservations in a heartbeat for a 2 bdrm at OKW any day. Yes, the Poly is beautiful and I've never stayed there but you can't beat that deal. And like others have said, there is always the future trip(s) that you can stay at the Poly.

OMG.........that sounds AWESOME!!! Was it a jello cake? I love strawberry and lemon jello cake, but never thought of combining the two.
