october/ november visit

We have been coming down every other year for years, Usually between sept and december. Love camping for Halloween. What's your thoughts for the best week to go. Wouldn't mind January but we drive from North East so weather doesn't always cooperate.
We have gone end of Sept it was hot yet, we have checked out right before halloween and you could see the crowds picking up. Any thoughts to early to mid october for crowds:
Any thoughts to the week before Thanksgiving? how are the crowds that week?

I don't know about the week before Thanksgiving yet (this year will be our first time going at that time). I would suggest staying away from Columbus Day in October though. We will never go back at that time. It was way busier than I had thought it would be and the weather was still very hot.

The week before Thanksgiving is a great time to visit. It's not the low crowd time it once was but its still manageable and the weather is usually wonderful.

I have gone the week AFTER thanksgiving before and that was a great time as well. We arrived the day after and by the weekend, the crowds were way down. Lower crowds and the park is all decorated for Christmas, it's awesome!

i would love to go after but having a husband and 3 boys who all hunt I would be in big trouble. lol thanks so much I will see if I can convince them i actually love christmas down there but we always do halloween for the light crowds and weather.

Most of the resort decorations don't go up until after Thanksgiving. MK is decorated since MVMCP is going on.
