I'll join. My September was a real bust. :(

I have a budget of $725 for groceries this month. I bought GCs last month because there was a good points deal on them. Since I counted those in last months' spend I won't count anything that comes from there in my buys. Other than that I count everything that isn't a monthly bill or gas. Also all groceries that aren't on those GC.

My goal - 18 no buy days

1. No buy 1/18
2. No buy 2/18
3. No buy 3/18
4. No buy 4/18
5. No buy 5/18
6. Buy - groceries (I got some at a store that I don't have a GC for)
7. Buy - more groceries without the gift card, paid for a field trip for 2 of my kids and a club for one of them
8. Buy - pizza for dinner at DD got her black belt in TKD!
9. No buy 6/18
10. No buy 7/18 (I'm calling this now, since it's Canadian Thanksgiving and nothing will be open)
11. No buy 8/18
12. Buy - few groceries not on a GC
13. Buy - new work pants ($10 - yay!)
14. Buy - new jeans (half price), books

October 14 - No Buy (2/18)
October 15 - No Buy (3/18)

Stayed home all day, cleaning and organizing. So productive and cheap.
Lol!

October 14- today was DS's bday, movie, snacks, bday present, and dinner at his favorite place $120
October 15- birthday party, cake, and all that goes along $220

I kind of, sort of participated in the September no-buy thread but fell off the wagon-big time toward the end of the month. I fell off the wagon, into the weeds and off the edge of the financial cliff. We've had a house full, some of whom came over from England to see Louisiana. Much money was spent on plantation tours, museums, pricey groceries, adult beverages and eating out.

Today we're down to just one houseguest-our flooding refugee so I'm going to try and get back on track.

The first half of October is a blur of excess and over indulgence so I'll start with the 15th.

October 15-$23.16 on gas. I drove to my dad's to help with groceries, meds, etc.
October 16-$0

A few pix of our friends from our wild, wild week

Now to attend to my much neglected trip report!

October 17-$$38.07 on groceries at WalMart.

Tried WalMart for groceries yesterday. We needed the basics-milk, eggs, etc. I also bought a huge tin of olive oil that doubled my cost. Some things (olive oil) were significantly cheaper, most were not. I really dislike WalMart so not sure that I'll continue to shop here.
