We are planning to go to orlando for the first two weeks of october.can anyone tell us what the weather is like and if the parks get quite crowded at this time of year? Also is it worth going to see MNSSHP,Is it worth the extra money?

we're going for 10 days in the middle of October. Weather should be good...mid 80's is typical, cooling off nicely in the evening. But, it can range from hot and humid to downright cool. Columbus weekend is busy, but not Christmastime- or Summertime-busy. The Epcot Food and Wine Festival is going on, which draws people to the World Showcase. MNSSHP is also going on and IMO, is a must-do! We've got our tickets already! Enjoy!

The crowds at the parks should be quite light, then getting busier around Columbus weekend - C day is the 10th I think so the weekend closest. Does get a bit busier at weekends.Weather wise usually good ,high 80's & a bit more settled than Sept ,which can be a bit hit & miss with wet weather. MNSSHP is worth doing if you like to soak up the Disney atmosphere & catch all the characters dressed up- you will struggle to do all the rides, see the shows & catch the storytellers in your 5 hours NOT forgetting the Headless Horseman galloping down Mainstreet! If you want to be scared witless then i would also consider Halloween horror Night at US/IOA &/or Howl'O'Scream at Busch
HTH SD :woohoo:

We normally go late Oct/early Nov. and the weather is beautiful. High 70's to mid 80's. MNSSHP is great. My kids LOVED it. They transform MK in just a few hours and make it a Halloween paradise. If you are interested, call soon for tickets. They went on sale earlier than usual this year. We bought ours for Halloween night the first week of May.

DH and I are going to MNSSHP on October 31st! We were scheduled to fly home on November 12th, but found out the first night for MVMCP is November 13th. So, we extended our vacation by two more days! :cool1:

I'm going to jump in on this thread due to MNSSHP being brought up... hope no one minds... :goodvibes
I just found out that MNSSHP was going on, and on the very night I had us scheduled to be at MK... Sept. 15th... I already had dinner @ Tony's for 5:45... the CM that booked that ADR didn't mention a thing about MNSSHP or the park closing early to guests without these special tickets... she must have assumed I knew what I was doing since I asked for something around seven... :confused3
Anyway... when I found out what was going on I decide to go for it, based on a few posts I've read here... it sounds like a load of fun!... Now that I have bought the tickets I've got a couple questions...

First, what should we expect as far as crowds?... I'm thinking that there won't be too many people there since it's so early... but I have no idea really... I figure that most people with kids won't be taking them out of school so soon after they go back... so that should also keep numbers down... We don't have any little ones in our group, so we will be there more for the atmosphere, fireworks, parade, and rides... not so much the trick-or-treating... :joker:

I'm also wondering exactly what the dance parties are all about... I understand you dance... but what kind of music are they playing?... :cool1:

Like the first poster, I'm looking for people to tell me that it will be worth it... the extra money, on top of not using our Park Hopper option anywhere there that night... What makes it so great?... I'd hate to go into it feeling an ounce of buyers remorse... :sad2:
