October & Hotel New York...

Hi,

After our successful (albeit very cold) January trip earlier this year, the Disney bug is once again biting.

I have decided to go in October and stay at Hotel New York. On every trip so far i have always stayed at Sequoia Lodge, but fancy a change.

Can anyone tell me what the hotel is like and are there any shows / parades worth seeing at that time of year.?.

I am a full time single dad also working full time and will be taking three kids with me, my son and his 2 half brothers, (i look after the youngest who is mine) and although i very much gear the trip towards them, i would maybe just like to do one thing for me which i think a show or something would be nice.

Any ideas suggestions are very welcome.

Oh BTW, Is the hotel pool cold?, I think i read somewhere that it was?

Hi. I just found this post among the trip reports, so I've moved it to the main board where hopefully you will get some more help.

The Hotel New York is a great choice - there are many people on here, including myself, who really like it. You can find pictures and reviews in the Hotel sticky near the top of the page.

Not sure how much DLP will be doing for it's Halloween season this year, as I believe they have been cutting back on the theming in the last couple of years. But there is already lots going for the 20th anniversary, including the night time show Dreams, which I'm sure you will all love.

We're just back from our 5th stay there, and it never disappoints. As Bexx says, look at the review thread, I've just updated it with our recent stay.

The hotel pool can be cold, but we've never used it when it's not summer, so I can't be sure what it will be like in October.
