We've gone to Disney the last two halloweens and gotten great rates and low crowds. School schedule has us going October 14-18 this year. Any idea why 9/28-10/22 is "High Season"? I would've thought all the kids would be back in school and it would be value season. Help please!

Tons of schools have off over the time that you are planning on going and October has quickly become one of the more crowded times. We have stopped going at this time because it was just to crowded.

Between Food and Wine and all the fall breaks, that is one of the busiest times of the year anymore.

Halloween has become very popular with all the special events at all the Orlando parks, not just Disney, and with it falling on a weekend they are expecting even big crowds, thus the opportunity to make bigger profits!

Columbus Day falls on the 12th this year so some schools have their Fall Breaks that week. I agree though October is busier than it was in years past.

There is no high or low season anymore. Even when it might be a "low" season for U.S. tourists, you have overseas tourists to consider as well. I think the number of home school families have increased on the last ten years.

We were there the week before Halloween last year. I wouldn't say it was overly crowded at all! In fact I think the longest wait we had was 40 min for 7DMT! MNSSHP was probably busier than any day we had there. But even then it wasn't bad at all! We loved going that time of year!

We use to go end Sept. and it was always slow…NOT ANY MORE…Going to try April this year.

I don't think there are any slow times at WDW anymore.

April is prime Spring Break season. Always crowded, but temps are moderate so we have a great time anyway.

Out west we have one week for spring brake, is it differnt all over the USA? When you look at crowd calendars its says that is a great time to go?

We're in Chicago and our kids are off 4/16 - 4/23/16. This year they were off 4/4 - 4/11/15. Many schools have their Spring breaks tied to Easter or Passover, but it's different all over the country, which is why the last week of March and all of April are prime/Spring Break season in WDW.

As a local near WDW...I can tell you that it is very busy with spring breakers here from the 2nd week of March thru mid to late April every year. Spring breaks vary so much over the country. The weeks in front of and behind Easter being the most crowded. Our local spring break here for 2016 is early...March 12-22.
