October discounts?

Anyone know if they historically offer discounts for packages or Disneyland resort hotels in October?
We have airfare for then but not sure if we're better off changing to September and taking the $300 hit on change fees in order to get in on that 40% off deal at the Grand Californian.

I was debating the same thing - but ended up going with the Grand Californian 9/16 - 9/20 (to get the first part of Halloween). Expedia/Travelocity have Standard Rooms at 213/night. You can't get these through the Disney site though...

I've read that last year they had a $400 discount on a 4 night trip for October. The Cast Member I spoke with that they will have discounts available in late August but she thinks it will just be a gift-card offer.
