What's the weather like? I think since dh is out of town, I'm going to book FW tonight and stop driving my lease so we can drive down! :lmao:

Oh and what is a preferred site? What are the differences then a regular one?

We have been to the Fort many times in Oct. one of our favorite times. From our experience , we have always had beautiful weather over all. Book it , you'll love it.

A prefer. site is closer to the settlement depot and has cable TV ,water sewer and electric. Full hook up has water sewer and electric and partial has water and electric only.

Will you be tent camping or RV camping ?

Popup, we stayed in the 1500 loop last year and like it, but the bus stop noise was a little loud at night. We were in 1501.

Seems most people like 2000 loop for being quiet , kinda out of the way.

I'll be heading down Oct 9-17. I've requested the 2000 loop for my tent gear. It should be nice during the day and comfortable at night.

I'm so excited!! :cool1:

October is a GREAT time at the Fort and WDW. Food & Wine Festival!!!! :cool1:

We were there in Oct. of '07 for 10 days. 1/2 day of drizzle-thats it! Nice and warm during the day, but not crazy hot :headache: Book it and enjoy:)

Timbo128 .... what was the temperature during the evening? Would it be pleasant inside a tent?

We are usually there the first or second week of October. The weather is great. The days can be fairly warm, humid but tolerable. The evenings are comfortable and a couple of times chilly for me (I'm cold natured) but DH and DS loved it.

It should be nice and cozy in the tent...we were in a pop-up...perfect sleeping weather.:)

We'll be there for Halloween this year (and the Food and Wine Festival of course ;) ). Late October you might have a chance of getting some early cold fronts, but for the most part it should be pretty mild outside, maybe a bit cool at night.

Although I can always wish for a really strong cold front to come through...lol

Food and wine?!?! AWESOME!!

Yes! It's a must-do! It's at Epcot. We try eating our way around the world. We have never accomplished this in one day....we did it in two days. :) Also during the Food and Wine Festival there's usually some great groups playing for the "Eat to the Beat" concert series (I enjoy it because they tend to be from my generation ....the 70's).

There's also Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party taking place a few days a week. This is a hard-ticket event at the Magic Kingdom.

Also, at the Fort don't forget to do the haunted hayride.

if your going to MNSSHP be sure to buy them before hand online for when they first go on sale for savings....

I will probably get them today. I'm on the phone for dining right now, but with the pin code expiring in a day, the wait it terrible!

Edited: I forgot about the 180 days! I have to wait until April 24th to make dinner ressies.
