October 7, 2012 - California Dreamin' Coastal Cruise

We've started our FE gifts, but I wanted to check with everyone first. Does anyone have any objection to getting Halloween themed gifts? I don't think they'll be celebrating on the ship, but we like to get an early start. Our items are more cute than scary, but we don't want to offend anyone.

I like the Halloween theme! We're doing Mickey's Halloween party after the cruise.

If you are looking for something to do on your own in San Francisco, one option is to take one of the free walking tours offered. You can review the info about the different tours offered at:

http://www.sfcityguides.org/current_schedule.html

We have taken a number of them and always find them interesting. They pass a hat at the end of the tour but there is no pressure to contribute.

Ooh, thanks for posting. All of the ones on Wednesday look spectacular, its going to be hard to pick one. Its weird how little I know about SF itself considering I lived in East Bay for 10 years and own a home in Solano (+ DH is born and raised South and East Bay). We only ever went into the city on Bart, I still can't ride Muni without getting lost.

Sounds great to us!

No problem here either. In fact, my kids will probably love it! :)

No problem with us. : )

Note to self: Write PM to Des in Word document, then copy and paste to PM so it doesn't get lost. Again.

Haha. Working on it again today!

We're going on the 15th too! Are you all dressing up? We'll be at the Grand Californian for 5 nights after the cruise.

Yes!!! We are dressing up -- we've gone on Halloween the last two years, but this year decided to go earlier and the cruise just happened to line up with our GCH days. We are there 10/14-17, then going to San Diego for five days.

Can't tell you our costumes, because I think we are going to wear them one night on the cruise! (Hint: They are Pixar-themed!) But we always dress up "full on"! Pirate night, too!

Wow! Great costumes! We're dressing up for pirate night but debating whether to wear those again for MHP or get something new? We'll be at GCH from the 14th -19th.

I tried to convince DH and the boys to wear the same pirate costumes at MHP. They didn't go for it haha. We also wore the pirate costumes already in July on the Alaska cruise. So we will be packing both.

Love love your pictures! Are you on our facebook page?

I don't do FB (because of my job), but DH has one. I should get him on there!

I saw pictures of your boys! What cuties! Glad you got on FB so you don't miss out on anything. Do you decorate your door at GCH? If so, what's the best way?

Thanks! Not sure why he has such random pictures of them on there -- we have so many better ones haha.

We don't decorate our door at GCH. I've never seen one decorated, actually. We did, one time, put a decoration with streamers on our cousin's door and decorated her room because she was turning two. And one time, I paid I think $85+ dollars each for the Mickey pumpkin with treats. Yikes.

Ditto on the YIKES! I've done stuff like that before when it comes to Disney. I had heard/read that people don't decorate at DLR like they do at WDW. I think we should change that plus it's HALLOWEEN!!! We've never done DLR as a family so thought we'd continue our cruise fun into GCH. There are so many cute Disney Halloween images!
