October 31 alternatives to MNSSHP?

We will be in WDW with our three children (ages 7, 4 and 6 months) for Halloween this year. We are skipping MNSSHP because of the ticket pricing and kids who can't stay up late - but wondering if there are any other fun things that happen in the parks (or around WDW in general) that might be fun to include in our itinerary for October 31? 👻

Also, is there a best park to visit on October 31 during the day with our regular tickets in terms of crowds? Considering MK before the party but open to others!

Halloween this past year I did MK in the morning through early afternoon, took a short afternoon break, and then went to the Halloween seasonal dine at Hollywood & Vine in DHS. I was able to get a lot accomplished from rope drop to around 2 pm. I felt the crowds didn't start to build until about noon. I was focused on rides at MK but I did do one photopass and Chip & Dale were in their Halloween attire.

Halloween is our last night at WDW 😭 and will attend MNSSHP earlier in the week so we are looking for alternative activities too. With Food and Wine happening at EPCOT and Halloween falling on Friday, how crazy will EPCOT be? We normally end our trips at MK.

OP, last year some of the resorts had 1 or 2 activities available for kiddos, but I don't know any specifics. We left before Halloween, but I remember the WL was setting up villain cutouts around the resort for a scavenger hunt.

Each Disney resort does some type of Halloween themed activity, some do trick or treat, and there is usually a pumpkin carving contest for CM's and they display them for guests. Fort Wilderness will be restricted for usually the day prior and the day of Halloween. The only way to get in is to stay there. They check to make sure you are a FW guest when using Disney transportation, too. FW goes all out for Halloween!

The resorts often offer Trick or Treat options. Possibly character visits too but I'm not positive about that part. What resort are you staying at? I would check it's specific thread as there are likely experiences from prior years shared there.
