Hi All,

I am new to this site and we have booked our first ever Disney trip this year and thought we would add in a cruise at the end of a week in the parks.

Having never set sail before on a cruise, what do we have to look forward too?

We are going to be travelling with our baby girl who is 1yrs old and our 2 other DD 10yrs (birthday on cruise) and 12 yrs.

I have been feeling very daunted about all of the extra trips and port adventures that we need to book.

I didn't realise until after week booked that it will be set out for halloween and I'm a little apprehensive about all of the scary decor (i may be frightened of spiders...) :)

That said have been told that there is a fancy dress party and when i told hubby he said he wants us all to go as star troopers and baby as Darth Vader.... (i can't see that all fitting in the suite case! We shall see)

We will be staying in a Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah, has anyone had any experiences with staying in these? Will there be any benefits?

Thanks for reading,

Jennifer.

Welcome to DCL! Read through some of the post and trip reports and you can find a lot of great information.

It am not the most experienced cruiser, so I will bump your question up.

Concierge is the way to go! Concierge lounge, free drinks and food and a lot of planning help. They will contact you before your cruise to help you with your plans.

I have never been aboard during Halloween, but I am sure othe DIS folks will help answer all your questions.

Good luck and just enjoy being on a beautiful floating resort with beautiful views. You can do as little or as much as you would like.

I did the Halloween cruise in September last year and am doing it again this year! Solo last year - with my adult niece this year. Nothing too scary - everything is "Disney" scary! The kids will love it! As to excursions in Bahamas - I've traveled with my grandchildren (last cruise they were 1 and 4) and after one trip to Atlantis for a tour, we've stayed on the ship every time since then. There is so much to do on the ship, I don't think you'll be impressed by anything in the Bahamas! Can't help you re: Concierge - haven't done that yet!
Enjoy!

Hi Bridget,

We have booked a the trip to Atlantis as my daughter wanted to swim with the Dolphins and i thought the water park looked good, is it worth the trip?

Glad to hear its not too scary!

We did manage to book a Cabana so I a really excited now!! :)

I hope you have a lovely time xx

We've only done the tour and it was with a 3 year old and a 3 month old! I've heard the water park is amazing and I'm sure you'll love it! Personally, since I've already seen Atlantis, I use that day to enjoy the ships amenities. Just got my Rain Forest day pass to use for that day! I got a massage on the last trip - it was wonderful! - but the Rain Forest passes were gone when I boarded so I grabbed some early this time! Let me know if you have any other questions - I'd love to help! :)
