Yes. Turn them off and don't use them.

To make a call at sea you will use the ship's cell service, Cellular at Sea, at $2.50/minute, plus your own carrier fees depending on your plan. Call your carrier.
In port those with international calling can call w/o additional charges if not roaming. Just make sure you are on the correct network.

The general rule IIRC for most who don't want to make calls, is to turn off data, place in airplane mode, turn on wifi then you can use the DCL "I concierge app " using the ship's wifi for free. I think. ???

IIRC texts are a reasonable 50 cents outgoing, 15 - 20 cents incoming using the ship's Cellular at Sea.

To answer your question, yes... it was an FB thing. Sweetlovin' thinks that it was related to her comment regarding that typing in all capitals is akin to shouting (which it is). There was no name calling. I don't believe that it was Sweetlovin's fault. I think that it was simple miscommunication and it lead to some hurt feelings. It's unfortunate, for sure.
On the bright side, everyone has been super upbeat today and the FB page has been declared a "drama free zone".

Happiness and joy, people! We're cruising in a little over 6 months!!!

Hi there! I too, have a 7 year old dd who is really excited for this cruise! I'm not telling her about the boards because I really don't want her to constantly ask me to check it out (and trust me, she would!). If you're interested in maybe having the girls exchange a few emails, possibly leading to facetime or Skype, we would be up for that!

My DD is 7 as well (8 in 5 days!) and would like some way to 'meet' others as well. I haven't really looked at the kids boards since I assumed it was just for the older kids. Are there some of the younger kids in there as well?

Corey is back on FB and is still cruising on this cruise. She just wanted to be removed from Roll Call, which I can understand. Personal info on a public forum isn't always a good idea. However, I think she missed her calling in life. She has a flair and a gift for the dramatics

Thanks I don't know about awesome, but it's nice to be shouted at with a compliment. I've heard shouting at me in the past, compliments weren't usually part of it.

There are a few 7yo posting there, but they don't seem to be as diligent about posting.

There is no separate FE that I know of, but I don't usually play. I think one of the newer cruisers is going to take that over. Or maybe she isn't new to cruising, but new to organizing an FE. I'll have to reread that.

I am not sure about the T-shirts. Jen had that and suggested that Sarah might take it over, but I am not sure Sarah ever officially took the reins.

I agree, I miss them as well. Samantha picked the cruise for their amazing ideas and awesome planning. My other two jumped aboard when they learned about all the cool activities.

Private trick or treat for now is still up in the air, for now.

Hello everyone, my name is Sarah Lane, I am one of the moderators on the Facebook page. When Jen and Ron announced they sadly had to leave the group I offered to take over the organisation of the FE and jenn accepted. I will spend the weekend just checking it all out and will get back to you all after the Easter break. As far as I know Corey is organising the private trick or treat, the door decorating contest and cabin crawl are no longer happening. The roaming mickey is still going ahead though. If you would like to be part of the FE, TOT or Roaming mickey please send me a pm either on here or on Facebook.

As for the group tshirt I have posted tonight on Facebook that I think it's fair to open up the designing of said tshirt to everyone in the group. The plan is to put any designs submitted as a poll so fellow cruisers can vote for their favorite design. Designers will remain anonymous at the voting stage but will be revealed when announcing the chosen design. If you would like to have a go at designing a tshirt, please pm me your design by the 10th may, so I may prepare the poll. The poll will be posted here and on Facebook, everyone will have 1vote each.

After Corey offered to take over TOT, she quit and her husband posted they were no longer going on the cruise. Her husband on FB and Corey here. I wasn't sure she was still doing the TOT. I think it might be better to have someone that isn't going to quit head it up. Just my opinion of course. Others are welcome to chime in with their thoughts.

I agree about the TOT. I think it would be best if she can just go and enjoy the cruise without the stresses of leading up any project like TOT or Facebook moderator. That was the second time they've threatened to quit. I don't have a vote, but I think someone who can handle some constructive criticism should do these projects... I'm not sure she can. This is a BIG project, trust me!! My sincere apologies if that comes across as sounding mean. It is not intended that way.

Thank you Ron, I have plenty of time to devote to it as I've just finished school and was looking for a project to keep me busy, I just hope I do it justice, you and Jen have left some pretty big shoes to fill, no pun intended! We sure will miss you both on this cruise.
