:welcome: BACK!!! I'm not sure if we cruised with you and the group in 2010 or if you cruised with Jen and Ron after that? BUT WELCOME BACK ANYWAY!!! :wave2:

We were on the 2010 Halloween Cruise with you, but didn't know it at the time!! We met up with Ron and Jen last September 22, 2012 Fantasty cruise and sooo happy to be going again! :)

And here is the other half! :goodvibes

We are booked and I'm hoping I can make this work as I'd love to see all you guys again!!! We had tentative plans for Aulani in February 2014, but not sure that will happen, so this is my backup. Not a bad backup plan, if I do say so myself!!!

So, either way, I'm doing some big time saving for one of these trips...and while I'd love to see Aulani, that would be an even bigger expense than this trip for us....only time will tell!

Alisia - you pull the strings and I will coordinate the group! We made a good team this past fall. :thumbsup2

We are midship 7600...so not too far away from you guys, Ron and Jenn!

Darcy!!!!!!!!!! my fearless leader and awesome coordinator, I am here to assist and pull strings for you:) We did make a darn good team didn't we:love:

Looking forward to seeing everyone again:banana:

With everyone rebooking onto this cruise, I think I am almost *hoping* that the Aulani trip falls through!!! Shhhh, don't tell anyone!!!

Hello, friends! Just wanted to ask all of you seasoned cruisers out there which dinner seating you all preferred! This will be our 7th cruise and we are currently booked for second seating. Our previous 6 cruises were all main seating. Which one, if either, do all of you prefer? Thanks so much in advance for your answers and I am anxiously awaiting your posts! Have a great day!!

Go Blue!!

We've always preferred late dining.

Our main reasons are-

More time to enjoy the day and ports.

Those long meals tend to make me drowsy. I think I'd fall asleep in the shows if I had to go to the late show after a big dinner...

I want to make sure Sarah gets to see the shows too. I'm pretty sure she'd fall asleep if she had to go to the late show after a long dinner.

Finally, we tend to be late eaters at home anyway...

Ron

For myself it depends on the ages of children I'm travelling with :) Ideally though, I'm liking the late dinner. I do NOT feel rushed with this one, whereas with the early seating, especially this last cruise, I felt ALWAYS in a Rush. Especially now that we've seen all the stage shows DCL does (except for any not yet made :) ), it really is a much more relaxing experience to eat later :) I think the servers themselves seemed more relaxed at the later seating as well :thumbsup2

What Ron says. The only I don't like about the late seating is that I am still full when I go to bed. But I love the extra time in port if I want it. Lois

Darcy,

It'll be really cool if you join us!:goodvibes But wow Hawaii... We really want to do that too! It'll probably be a few more years... At least we've got cruises to hold us over!:beach:

Hi Caroline! We have always done late dining for our cruises, and the kids were 7 when we first cruised. We like the extra time in port (or the aqua duck!) if we want it, we just grab a snack or room service before the show if we are feeling hungry at that point.

When we are at home, we never eat before 7:00 and that is on a night with no sports! Once sports are in swing, we are eating closer to 9:00. In fact, I just put dinner in the oven before I jumped on here as the kids are at a hitting clinic. So, a 5:45 dinner just wouldn't work for us.

Yeah, Hawaii. sigh. It's on my wish list to bring the kids there (I've been once as a kid and then Tom and I went on our honeymoon) and to go to Hawaii in a Disney way would be even better! My BFF owns DVC and we planned to go with him and his partner...but not sure financially that will work for them (or us). but we will see. Hawaii or Western Fantasy...either is good!

We have always done Late Seating

I agree with all the answers too, more time in ports, not so rushed, etc

Another reason, (which i dont know if it will work as well on this ship) is , we were always able to do our Palo Dinner as early as possible and then still be able to make it to our dinner seating if we wanted to, OF COURSE just.for coffee, but we could sit with our kids while they ate.

The only thing ii dont like about it is feeling so bloated that i just end up in bed.

The last cruise we were on, we actually didnt make it to several dinners and just did our own thing. But since we will be on a new ship, i imagine we will go to each dining room at least once.

That sucks about Nachi still charging you more! What on earth was their reasoning for that if they in the end FOUND your reservation?

I don't know. They did it all on scratch paper. When I got back home is when I totally realized about the over charge. Either way, lesson learned.

One thing we found in our cruises, was ALWAYS feeling rushed. When we got off our first trip, we felt relaxed but wished we could have just gone at our own pace. In addition, I can do with out the shows. I think I have seen half of one and fell asleep in that. I also found myself a little bored if I didn't go to a show. Now I feel a little more in charge of how I want to do my vacation. My son also told me he wants more time in the pools and the upside to late is the pools empty for shows/dinner. NOT to mention, I can watch a sunset /photograph at sea which you really can't if you in dinner. lol.

Thanks to all of you who have shared your opinions/experiences and I think we'll be sticking with the Late Seating for dinner!! :cool1:

We are snowed in. Got at least 9" and more to come.

What I would not do to be at Castaway today!

I love the snow storms, not the cold. I love being snowed in, but then again, I don't have to go OUT to work during the week day, for I work at home. I hope eveyone on the roads where this storm is, stays as safe as can be. Here we were at -27 Celcius this morning. BRRR.. It snowed some yesterday giving everything a fresh covering, hiding all the brown snow :) It's this cold I can absolutely do without, and yes, Dreaming of Castaway Cay :thumbsup2

While Dreaming of Castaway Cay during this cold weather outside, Lets find out something about each other. Here's the question:

"What are your 5 Top MUST DO'S on This Cruise?"

My Top 5 MUST DO'S
1. REALAX, don't stress
2. Actually get in the adult pool (6 cruises and I've YET to do this)
3. Dance with my son (he's growing up so fast)
4. Catch a Sunset and a Sunrise from my Verandah (or elsewhere on the ship but preferably sitting back with a drink in my hand as I do so)
5. Take the DH to a club one night when they've got something good going on)

My 5 top must do's:
1) spend time with my sweetheart
2) Get some sun without burning
3) meet some old friends and make a few new ones
4) Sleep
5) enjoy the food

Top 5

1. Come up with a great name for us as we get introduced coming into the ship (THEY DO THIS ON THE FANTASY I HOPE)

2. EXPLORE, first time on the big ships for me.

3. Relax, after i explore

4. Try all the restaurants at least once.

5. Wear a great costume for Halloween!!

Hi everyone, my must 5 do's well would like to do because I didn't last time
