OMG, can't believe I did it! That is my first dancing banana...

We've paid the deposit, I guess we are really *in*!!!

"We" are myself, Celeste/mom 45, DS Sean 13 and DS Ryan 11. We are long time WDW fans, but 1st time cruisers. I will read through the posts here and add info as needed, but just had to share my overwhelming excitement! :cool1:

Looking forward to meeting some of you vets!

welcome :) So exciting and you picked an awesome group. (It's my first time cruising with them, but they are so sweet)

I felt your excitement in the post, which had a contagious affect. :dance3:

Please let your kids get to know the others on the Kids thread :) Nico will have just turned 14 and Julie 12. They are both on the kids thread. My kids love getting to know the other kids on their cruises :goodvibes

WOW, So nice to see so there will be so many 11yr old boys on this cruise!! My son was a little worried there will be no one to hang out with in the kids club. He turns 11 this summer. So when people introduce themselves on this board, do you put your childs current age or the age they will be when cruising? If its the age when cruising, then there will be a lot of 11yr old's :)

And Bear3412 I understand what you mean about a Ship that looks like the one we are on. Believe me, if I could find the perfect one, I'd use it. But it's all just like Jenn said. The ship for instance in my halloween shirt graphic, comes from a kit. Not supposed to be a particular ship other than representative of Disney. I just may talk to the creater of that kit though and put that voice through to see if they can create one that look more the the two newer ships :)

i"ve put the age when they will be cruising. If I remember their ages, or the kids. :rotfl2:

Welcome! I've added your family to the roll call on the 1st post.

Ron

Thank you for the welcome, and adding my family to the roll call! I have just read to page 22 (phew!) and wanted to add the following:

Our stateroom is 7586, hometown is Denver (did I say GO BRONCOS!!!), and we have late dining.

I can volunteer to help with ToT stations. I was a little worried about taking the kids away from home on Halloween, but they were all in (I know they are a little old for trick or treating, but they are subject to my secret plan to keep them young as long as possible!)

Way back (around page 5) there was a post for the top 5 must do's:
-Enjoy sunset with an adult beverage from my verandah
-Ride the Aquaduck with kids at night
-Make some new friends
-Stay up late at least one night and sleep in at least one morning (these will hopefully work together :thumbsup2 )
-Enjoy the Rainforest Room

Grandma4ever also asked about everyone's furry friends, and my furry friend is Marley. We adopted her about 6 months ago as a 1.5 year old golden retriever and Australian shepherd mix. She is the best thing I ever did for my boys! We are so glad she is part of our family. Even when she gets out and rolls around in the nettles!

I love how many of the early posters had sailed together in 2010. I think we newbies are the lucky recipients of your experience! Speaking of which, can anyone tell me how to add a countdown?

Now back to our regularly scheduled lives...

Ok, for a Group excursion in Cozumel for those of us who would like a BEACH BREAK, which of these two would be your preference? All inclusive beach break and prices for both are comparable: I've been to Nachi, VERY NICE, and they limit the number of guests to only 100 per day. Mr. Sancho's has some great reviews, I've never been. LOOKS appealing. (Both include your Beach chairs, Lunch, and unlimited drinks, both have pools and swim up bar)
Mr. Sancho's

Or Nachi Cocom

Don't forget Playa Mia. I've never been there, but the water park looks like a fun place for the kiddos... http://www.playamiacozumel.com/packages.php

Ron

Playa Mia does look and sound great. But I think just a bit out of my price range

So I priced them all up for my family just for comparison's sake. These prices include the all inclusive packages with the exception of Playa Mia where I only chose the beach and buffet for the kids since they don't need an open bar.

Playa Mia= $245 ($60+$60+$45+$45+$35) includes waterpark and inflatables in the ocean.

Sanchos= $261 ($55+$55+$40+$40+$35+$12+$12+$12) the three $12 charges are for the kids to use the inflatables in the ocean.

Nachi= $197 ($55+$55+$35+$35+$17)

There are options. For instance, at Sanchos we wouldn't have to do the all inclusive. I'm not sure that my family would eat and Drink $225 worth. So maybe we could go a la carte for the kids and maybe all-inclusive for Jen and myself (assuming that all members of our party don't have to be all inclusive). Same thing with Playa Mia, we could just pay the $30 admission each and pay for food and drink as we go.:confused3

I loved Nachi too, but I think I may want to try something new. I guess we'll see. If we can get a big group together for a fun day, we can be flexible.

Of course we've always wanted to check out Chankanaab too...:rolleyes1

I added your extra info to the roll call and added you as a TOT volunteer. Thanks for volunteering!

Thanks for doing the breakdown Ron, makes me rethink that now. When I initially looked at the prices, Playa Mia indicated on the Day Pass with Drinks and Buffet as $60 for ages 12 and UP. REALLY? Why when they aren't drinking alcohol. Then I noticed YOU did the Day pass and just Buffet for the kids, which brings that fee way down, and is even less for the under 12 under that package. Brain just wasn't working well last night. So for me, Mr Sanchos is only a dollar less than Playa Mia. So instead of doing a VOTE Hows about I just plan a Group gathering at Playa Mia? My kids like yours will LOVE it there!! They would have loved Mr, Sancho's too, but it looks like there is SO MUCH MORE for kids at Playa Mia :)

You know Judy... I just noticed that the cruise ships do their excursions to Playa Mia. So it's probably not a great idea to go there after all. The crowds are bound to be bad.:sad2: I think Sanchos or Nachi are probably the best bet (or even somewhere else). Sorry to cause confusion...:confused3

Never thought of that. And just how many cruise ships are due to be in port that day?

I'm just starting to look at excursions and am not sure what we will be planning for Cozumel (I was originally thinking snorkeling?), but came across this.

Has anyone tried it? It sounds fun and like an activity my boys would love!

Nico would love that as well :thumbsup2 I'll have to ask Sam and Julie. Disney has one of these in Jamaica as well. (Are we going to Jamaica?:confused3) However the age is 12 and Sam will only be 10.

The one you found is for all ages :) I will definitely talk to my 3 kiddos about that. :goodvibes Oh and no, I have never done it ;)

The Amazing Cozumel Race sounds exciting! How much is this? We are in Cozumel in just a little over a week and have nothing planned for this trip. Maybe I'll look into that :)
