Has anyone done the bobsled in Falmouth before? It caught my eye, but it looks rickety. I have a feeling when DH finds out that this excursion involves a mountain it will be the pick lol.

Hi everyone :wave2:

We will be joining you on this cruise.

There will be me- Amanda and my daughter Cameron-Jayne (who'll be 15). We are from Birmingham in the UK.

We are on late dining.

We were booked on a B2B on the Dream for the same dates, however our cruise was re-scheduled last week, putting our cruises over a week apart. All's well that ends well as I found this cruise which actually works out cheaper for us and we get to celebrate Halloween

Nice to 'meet you all'! :cheer2:

Welcome! I've adde you to the roll call on post one.

Ron

Not exactly the one in Jamaica, but we've been on the same type of coaster in Labadee, Haiti... They charged $15 per person for 2 rides.

It's really fun. You get to control your speed with a hand brake. I would do it again, but it is really a quick ride. I'm not sure what they are charging for that coaster. But if it's more than $15 I'd hope they'd give you multiple rides because one ride wouldn't be worth it.

BTW on youtube you can find point of view videos of the bobsled in Jamaica.

Was :coffee: on another thread where the excursions for Falmouth are now listed . Seen some really cool things to do :woohoo:. We just need to decide :crazy2: which one we are going to do.

Dena

What kind of excursions were they offering for this port? We are trying to figure out what to do also but couldn't find any info about them

There's tons of info about different excursions in Falmouth on cruisecritic... We'll be in Falmouth in November during our Oasis cruise. We'll likely go with one of the tour operators that will take us to Dunn's River Falls and river tubing.

River tubing sounds like so much fun!!!

I am in the final stages of planning our June cruise. Once that one is in the memory book, I will have to start looking at all of these fun excursions.

Hi everyone! Haven't been on in awhile and thought I'd stop in and say Hi!!:wave2:

I don't remember if anyone remembers the horrible fires in Colorado Springs of 2012, but it's happening again as we speak. They were thinking arson last year, but never caught the arsonist and the fire officials are thinking it's the same arsonist again this year ugh :furious: the hospital REEKS of fire smoke right now and I can see the fire raging out the L&D windows, it's that close. Many of my fellow co workers have had to leave work tonight to evacuate their homes. Again, just like last year....it's horrible. Many of my fellow doctors and nurses lost their homes in the fires last year and I fear the same thing will happen this time around as well.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! I am soooo afraid it's going to be over before you know it and back to the dreaded winter. It lasted so long this year, I thought it would never get warm ugh:cold:

Shannon - was just watching the story on the ABC evening news. I am so sorry, to here that Colorado is having to go through this AGAIN. Will say prayers for you and your fellow doctors and nurses.

Not sure if y'all are a drinking couple But they have spirits or majito or wine testing. Theres a new one that i saw that was a chocolate and spirts tasting that im def doing this time.My sister and bro in law went with us last time with no kids and they loved bingo. It was very interactive. Palos is very romantic for dinner. My husband and I spent every morning at cove care just to plan the day with no kids before they woke up. We also did the rainforest at the spa together which was great. The serenity beach at castaway cqy has a wounderful bbq for lunch that is different than the one at cookie's . My bro in law and sister found a ton of things to do on ship and off and they were surprised the whole trip how they didn't feel bogged down with kids and they had a lot of fun. Hope this helps

My husband and I have no kids, and this will be our 4th cruise with Disney. There are tons of great things for you to do.

We love The champagne Brunch. It's an additional charge but totally worth it!
I agree completely with the alcohol tastings. We have done Bloody Mary, Tequilla, Margarita, and we enjoyed them so much! The groups are usually really small so you meet ther people as well.

The adult only pool is great, and at night, it is never crowded!

We have also done the cooking demos and spa packages (they usually offer a great deal if you book the first night.)

Don't shy away from the disney family fun, though. We always participate and have a blast!

You will have so many options that you won't know which to pick!

Yes thank you it helps a lot

As of 6/17/13 these other vessels will be joining us in port. Obviously this could change but ...

Pax #'s are realistic estimates.

Cozumel; Carnival Dream 4000 pax, NCL Jewel 2500 pax = 6500pax

Grand Cayman; MSC Divinia 3800 pax.

Falmouth; Rccl FOS 4500 pax, Rccl NOS 3500 pax = 8000

For Falmouth one of these schedules is wrong IMO. Only two ships can port here as I understand. Rccl says both of these ship dock. So .... guess I'll call before booking excursions. :lmao:

Grand Cayman; No one else yet. Wouldn't that be nice. :)

Interesting... I just went to the RCL website and it definitely shows the Navigator and Freedom in Falmouth the same day as us. I'm not sure that there is enough dock space for all of us either. Like you said the RCCL ships both say docked. Since Falmouth is an RCL built port it would seem that they'd get first dibs on the dock. I hope we don't have to tender...:confused3

Ok Jen (nenner1) started a thread about this on the cruisecritic Jamaica port of call forum...

A poster made us aware of a site called cruiseclues. It has port schedules that show the Navigator switching thier GC and Falmouth days. So it looks as if it's us and the Freedom in Falmouth.

Also it shows the MSC Divina in GC with us for a total of 8345 pax including us...

Ron

:scratchin Sounds like it's going to be crowded :crazy2: On our last cruise the only time we had to share a port was in Cozumel.
