I see several people have mentioned jet lag this is a main reason we put our TDL trip at the end of our Japan trip when we went October 2024. It took me about 2 to 3 days to get my body to stay up late enough even having done some adjustments on the days before we left to try and get my body up to speed. My husband's jet lag hit him once we got back home, me it was when we got to Japan.
When we went to Europe last May I had jet lag once we got home but my husband when we got to Europe though his was less than mine.
Obviously this takes knowing how each person handles jet lag but to be safe I would not try and start your trip right off the bat in TDL if you're trying to maximize your park touring.
We did not do a vacation package and instead stayed at Hilton Tokyo Bay (located next door to Toy Story hotel). We did a Disneyland weeknight pass (entry at 5pm-9pm) the day we arrived back in Tokyo after having explored other parts of Japan. In addition we did 1 full day at Disneyland and 2 full days at DisneySea.
