Just arrived back home to Kansas after a 5 day/5 night stay at Caribbean Beach for our 50th Celebration Trip! Too much to type out in one post but overall had a great trip and here are some of the highlights:
- It had been over 20 years since staying at CB and to be honest my first trip I was so young I didn't even remember the resort much. My wife and I were both very impressed, the room was very nice and clean, the resort location was convenient for us since we love Epcot and DHS, and our meal at Sebastians was excellent. We spent some time walking around Riviera and got drinks at bar Riva one afternoon as well so having it nearby was nice.
- Disney Genie/Genie + obviously took some getting used to, but overall I think for us the $15/per day was worth it. To this point in our lives we don't usually get to visit WDW more than once every couple years so doing all of the attractions is important to us. We utilized LL enough to where I think the cost was justified. There are certain aspects of the system I don't like (only getting to reserve one LL per attraction per day) but we made it work and got to ride all of our favorites at least a couple of times between rope drops and LL.
- First time at food and wine and I'm already anxious to visit WDW again this time of year. We tried more food and drinks to list but some of my favorites were the Guinness milkshake at Ireland, Lobster Roll at America pavilion stand, and the spicy chicken doughnut sandwich by Test Track.
- Cast member experiences this trip were maybe the best I can remember. Our server at Tiffins and Sebastians were both great, the young lady at Brown Derby Lounge was phenomenal, and gentleman at Bar Riva was super friendly and made our experience there that much better. Top to bottom the service was just outstanding and I can't thank the many cast members enough for making the trip so great for us.
-For negatives, I would have to get very picky because again the trip was just really great overall. I guess the two new nighttime shows at Epcot and MK were not my favorites, but that is mostly just personal preference. I think they were well done, but I loved Illuminations so much my bias there might prevent me from being as open as I should about Harmonious. At some points during the trip the crowd level seemed kind of ridiculous at times, but honestly at this point it just is what it is. I think the days of Disney Parks seeming empty are long gone so it's just a matter of setting expectations for that. Really the wait times on attractions were very reasonable most of the time, just certain areas of the park tended to get super congested but again, it is what it is.
I've told myself before the last few trips that this one would be the last for a while (5+ years at least). I don't get a lot of opportunity for extended vacation time so I keep telling myself I need to travel to other places besides Disney and see more of the world. I still believe that and there are other things I want to do and places I want to see, but once again now that this trip is over all I can think about is getting back. WDW not only met but also exceeded my expectations yet again, so until next time we'll see ya again real soon!
