How hard is it to book for October 2008. I had really wanted May of 2008 but there is just too many things going on for that date to work. I am now thinking of October 2008 (probably on a Monday). Is October a really hard month to get? I want a ceremony in Epcot, a reception in ADH and a IllumiNations desert party.

Is anyone on a waiting list for October yet. I don't want to have to go into a lottery.

Thanks,
Linda

Yea I am going in the lottery.. I gave them choices for Oct. and Nov. being that its such a busy time... GL:thumbsup2

I am trying for a October 2008 Epcot wedding/reception also. According to my WC, the date I want is available for the ceremony and reception sites so we were "penciled in". Right now we are keeping our fingers crossed until we hit the 12-month mark and sign our contract.

We're pencilled in as well but we want some "less popular" locations so fingers crossed. I don't thik you'd have a problem on a Monday. I think it's just the weekends can be tricky.

How come October is so popular? I figured November would be with all the vacations during the month..

I didn't really realize that either. We're getting married this October 29th, and we didn't have any trouble at all getting our date. We also didn't have any trouble getting an ADR for dinner at the castle, and we didn't call right away or anything. We are just now making our lunch reservations for 25 for the wedding reception luncheon, and no problem there either.

We've actually been pretty slow about doing everything, but we haven't had any problems with things being too busy or booked or anything. Either we've been really lucky, or that week isn't too busy, or something...

That reminds me, I need to send my deposit in to Anna....

I am soooo sorry but you're scaring me and I need to hijack your post!

Is August 2008 all booked up too?
Is it different for intimates?

FH and I are hestitant to book because we have to undergo the whole fiancee visa process first... but it takes months so maybe we should book anyways?
Is a large deposit required? If we have to change the date do we loose the deposit?

TIA,

Mariana

Don't be scared until you make the call. I was just upset because we had things scheduled for May 2008 but because of personal things going on in our life we might have to switch to October 2008 and I was not sure how hard it would be to book. I am going to call today and see if I can get pencilled in. We are looking at a Wishes wedding with around 50 people and I want to make sure I get everything I want. I am not sure what happens if you send in the deposit and then need to change the date. Would love to find out if anyone knows.

I imagine October might be busy because hopefully it will finally be alittle cooler after the summer months. Also the Food and Wine festival will be going on at that time so that brings extra people into the parks.

Hey there,

We are meeting with someone at Disney on August 31st to talk about our October 2008 wedding and to see some venues. When I spoke with her she said it should be no problem to book a weekday wedding in October. We are looking at the end of the month (the 27th actually) and she said we should most likely get the day we are looking for. Of course we can't book anything until a year to the date. I hope this helps.

Here's what I know (If I'm wrong please let me know)
Only courture weddings can book more then a year out.
Wishes brides have first pick a year out and then intimate brides.
Wishes weddings require $1500 deposit and intimates have to book a 4 day stay at a WDW resort. You will need the confirmation number before you can book your wedding.
If you need to change the date Disney will try to work with you.
August is a low month for weddings. If you want a weekday you should be ok, if you want a weekend you might have go into the lottery.
The weekend of August 29, 30 & 31, 2008 will be VERY busy and those brides will have to go into the lottery. I had wanted August 29 at first, but Kristi (my sales consultant) told me that other brides were after the same times and locations I was looking into. I can not deal with the stress of the lottery so we moved our wedding up the August 27, 2008 and so far we are safe.
If I were you I would call Disney and get all the info you can from them, they are so helpful.
Good luck to everyone. Picking a date is hard enough, but having to wait and see if you got that day is even worse.

According to my planner, October is the busiest month at WDW for weddings. The weather is a bit cooler than the summer, and the crowds are much smaller than in the summer since the schools are back in session and it is also not pushing into the holiday season. The new higher premium season minimums for custom/wishes weddings might help a bit, but it is still a tough month to get your first choice time and locations.
