Pat

Hi, Pat.

Right now with my group tentative group split, I have about 29 adults in one group and 30 in the other. But as far as the kids go, there are right now 21 in each group.

However, there is one group of folks that have seven people who I have not placed because I don't have any information on them.

So, that is what you are looking at right now. I will send out the formal lists shortly after the 5th of September. I figure by then, most who are still on the fence about taking this cruise will have booked by then and those who are still undecided will have to make a decision by then.

In any case, it should be a really great cruise and I can't wait. Glad I have a cruise to take between now and then.

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to check in and say hello! We are moving in/getting settled in our new house....so it's crazy here plus DH had to work 90 hours this week bc of the ATP tennis tourney in our area! (I know where that extra money is going!!!!)
I saw earlier some girls post they are RNs....I am an L&D RN and have been for 7 years. I also teach childbirth education and I am a CPR instructor.:cool1:
We would love to participate in the FE. Here is our info for that:
cabin 7518
DH, me and DD (Ella, 6), & DD (Eva, 3 actually turns 3 oct 8 so we will of course be celebrating). I will also be celebrating my bday on the 20th :)

Getting so excited. 60 days until we leave! :goodvibes

Our daughters turn three twice same day!!!my Allie was born oct 8 three weeks early!! And my son will be 6 in January! Such fun ages. See you on the ship!

Hi everyone,

So excited to be here. This is our first Disney cruise. We are lucky to be leaving on Oct 20th to the eastern caribbean out of florida. I have been reading so many threads and think I'm ready to take the plunge. I would love to join the FE list.
My husband and I are bringing our three boys, ages 11. 12 . and 13.
Anyone else from Jersey?
(I also saw some previous posts about RNs. I'm also an L&D RN!)

Hi folks welcome aboard. Great to see so many new cruisers jumping onboard with us. This will be my 5th DCL cruise, 2nd 7 day and I have sailed the Dream already so while no expert I will be more than happy to answer any questions you have that I can help with.

I also wanted to let you know we have a Facebook page for this cruise as well so if you wish to have access to it send me a Private Message with the link to your FB page (not your name but the actual link to your page). I will send you a friend request and then I can add you to the page.

Mark You need either 5 or 10 posts before you can send a Private message so if you want to join in post 5 more times real quick LOL

Has anyone purchase wifi/Internet access on ship before? How was coverage? Pros?cons?

Hi Carrie - Wi-fi is terribly slow, think AOL dial-up 10x worse at best and very very expensive.

From my readings there is free wi-fi in the port at St. Thomas and also a few places in St. Maarten. Any crew member should be able to tell us exactly where. St. Thomas is also US Territory so if you have AT&T I understand you don't get hit with roaming charges there. Not sure about Verizon.

Here is one thread on it:

I don't remember if I gave those who are doing the FE Exchange this heads up or not (if its buried somewhere in the back pages of this thread sorry to repeat).

I just wanted to make sure that you were aware that there is another group doing a FE Exchange on the ship besides this group. The group I am traveling with is made up of a bunch of current and previous DIS'rs who have been friends and cruising together for several years. I think we have 22-24 participating cabins as of right now so you will be out and about delivering your gifts and see FE's on each deck that are not on your list and I didn't want you to think you had a wrong list and my be missing cabins, etc. and get all confused and worried. I know I would so now you shouldn't LOL

When we go on a cruise we don't carry our electronic devices with us. We are cruising to get away from all that and leave it behind for a few days. To heck with wifi . Ha Ha

Thanks, Kelly, I will mention this to the folks when I give them there lists. Just so I am clear, you are NOT participating in this FE exchange? If so, I just want to make sure that I add you to the list.

Thanks again for the heads up.

Hi, Welcome ABOARD!! We are glad that you found us and will be joining us for this cruise.

As far as the Halloween theme, I think sometimes this is hit or miss. Although, we are the cruise right BEFORE the Halloween cruise so, there maybe so events going on around the ship.

I know some of the cruisers here plan to do a little "Trick o' Treating" on the ship for the kids. Not to sure how the are doing this, though. I will find out and post it on the first page of this thread.

Did you want to participate in the FE gift exchange that we are having? If so, I will need names and cabin number so that I can add them to the list. If you don't wish to publish your names on the open forum, you can send me a PM when you are able, and I will only add your info to those on you FE list.

Anyway, I will add you all to the main post. And again, WELCOME!

The TA who is handling our group is very close with the happenings on DCL cruises (She is a top cruise agent for DCL) and she posted on our cruise page yesterday that she was able to confirm with DCL that our cruise will have Halloween activities on our cruise including Trick or treating and costume party!

When I cruised on Halloween 2 years ago we received an email from DCL with only about 10 days notice about the activities so at least now those of you with little ones can plan to pack their costumes if you wish.

The T&T on our cruise as I said was 2 years ago so it may have changed but basically there were stations set up around the ship that the kids could visit to get candy. It was not a huge deal but the kids enjoyed it but again we embarked on our cruise on the actual Halloween day. We had Palo reservation on the night they had the costume party so I know nothing about that except I know that its for Adults and kids.

I will bet we will get a email from DCL with more details and there is a post about it here as Wade said.

Again, Kelly, thanks fo the information. I was on the Oct 23rd cruise a couple of years ago and can't recall that anything at all was done. So, this will be a nice "treat":lmao:!

We were on a 7 night Western with Disney 2 years ago on Halloween. We were in Key West on the 31st. It was a great cruise-lots of decorations, characters in costume, party, T or T, etc.

Folks on our thread planned extra things that were just for the kids in our group. Separate T or T, and treasure pirate: hunt while on one of our group excursions. Such fun!

Look forward to meeting you.

Joanie
