October 15 - October 22...Read Me (Now with more pictures)!!

I should have mentioned in my report that at some point during the cruise both Jason and I could identify with each one of the Seven Duffs:

Tipsy, Queasy, Edgy, Dizzy, Sleazy, Surly, and Remorseful.

I love the Duff Gardens episode...that's where I picked up the lizard queen designation for myself.

Oh, cartoons! It's the stuff of life around our house. :teeth:

See ya!

Thank you Brenda for posting.

I love your writing style and thoroughly enjoyed living vicariously through you :) We leave in less than a month for our "Magic"al cruise. I can't wait. I think we're going to need to rob a bank before we go so we can pay for our drinks though :goodvibes

I have a question though, what is the rain forest you keep mentioning and where can I find out more about it?? I haven't seen it listed on the DCL site, maybe I'm blind or slowly going cross eyed from all the Disney info I am trying to accumulate for our first cruise.
We haven't even gotten there yet and I think I may have talked DH into booking a second cruise :rotfl: I can't wait.

I loved your report though, it was the best I've seen, I laughed, I sympathized (for leaving the ship) and I agonized with you (over the bill).

Have you ever figured out what the final alcohol bill was or did you place the bill in the Cubs blanket for Handsome Pete to hide it??

Anyway, thanks for posting and for adding the pictures.

Take care,

Hi there Weirdguy and thanks for reading - I'm glad you enjoyed our tale.

The rainforet room is a thermal suite at the spa - $15 per day for a single unlimited use pass or $75 for a weeklong unlimited use pass (those prices are per person). The main room has four heated tile loungers that you can doze on while you soak up the heat...there is also a steam room, a sauna, and a gentle sauna. The gentle sauna is my favorite - all heated tile benches and while it's very warm it does not feel oppressive the way a normal sauna does.

You can only buy passes from the spa front desk - I would suggest that you go up there at some point on the day you board and ask if you can take a quick tour of the rainforest to see if you think you'd enjoy it.

Also, I think if you have a treatment at the spa you can buy a discounted daylong pass for that day - I want to say it's $8 in that case.

I love the rainforest room...so warm, so sultry, so decadent (I'm no closer to getting one in my basement but a girl can always hope!).

As for the bill....let's just say 2/3 of it was alkie-hol. I had no idea we were such prolific drinkers...really, I didn't. :teeth:

Check out the Magical Disney Cruise Guide - it's free, all you have to do is Google it - it's about 80 pages of great information about DCL and everything they offer. It should give you all the answers you're looking for.

Have a lovely trip!

If there is anyone here from the Molar Express who's been following the trip report I just wanted to let you know that I uploaded all the pictures Jason took at both DISmeets (58 all total).

They are available here:

I'll be posting these pics to the shared album and I'll also post the link on our cruise meet thread in the hopes that I don't miss anyone.

Hope you enjoy!

jeesh... I thought there were only two duffs... Hillary and Hailey... both signed on for life with the Disney Channel....

sorry... I got disney on ya...

My boss is on a carnival cruise from NJ to Bermuda this week... he he... like the one that Carnival hijacked and took to cold Canada instead of warm Bermuda back in the spring...

Well Brenda you did it. Your jam-packed, fun-filled trip report persuaded me enough and I did it...I booked my first cruise! Unfortunately it is only the 3-night Wonder but thats ok by me because I'll be at Castaway Cay on my birthday. I'm so excited!!

Thanks again for sharing your experience (and not posting the true amount of $$ you paid for the alkie-hall) :rotfl2:

My work here is done. :teeth:

Congratulations!! You will have a terrific time and if you don't purchase a wine package with dinner you will considerably lower your alkie-hall bill for the cruise!

Be sure to let everyone know it's your birthday, too!

Brenda :goodvibes

PS - I expect a full blown trip report upon your return! :teeth:

Hey Brenda....

Cruise Director of the Molar Express here!! Loved your pictures! I did post earlier this morning but can't find my post. Oh well.....

I would love a copy of the very last picture of DISmeet II. How do I do that?
The crewmember that found his way into the picture was hilarious!! We saw him in Diversions with Jo and Danny in a really funny skit on the last night of our cruise. I think it was called "If I didn't work on a cruise ship". Fantastic!!

REALLY enjoyed your cruise reports. Never laughed so much since I returned to work. (YUCK).

Nancy

Hey Nancy -

you want me to send you an email at your home address? I can send you a zip file with that picture and you can download it, save it to a CD, and then have it printed out at your convenience.

Why don't you send me a PM if you think that's the way to go? I'll have Jason show me how to do it tonight (you didn't think I knew how, did you??).

Glad you liked the trip report - I had a blast putting it together! :teeth:

Thanks !! :sunny:

I'll try about the trip report but I warn you, I'm not a great writer like you are. My grammer is horrible. Maybe I'll send it all to you and you can write it for me! :rotfl: Just kidding.

I can't wait! :cool1:

I thought his name was just Pike...as in Peak. Not that I thought he was named after a mountain in Colorado or anything. :teeth:

The lizard queen thanks you for taking the time to read, is very pleased that you enjoyed the tale, and desperately needs to know where the nearest Starbucks is so that she can warm her hands (it's freezing in my office!). :teeth:

Yes, you must try the mochaccino with ice cream. Later on, may I suggest that you also try it just as an iced drink without the ice cream? That's pretty darn tasty, as well!

Have a lovely trip! I'll be lookin' for a report. :teeth:

Just wondering if anyone is planning on seeing Harry Potter this weekend?

DH and I have tickets for a matinee this afternoon...woohoo!!

OK...it's not a Disney Cruise but it's something to look forward to. :earboy2:

I went last night. It was so great!!! If you love Harry Potter, you need to see this movie asap! :wizard: They did an excellent job putting in most of the subplots too.

Excellent! I am a huge HP fan - even went so far as to have a book party the night Half Blood Prince was released... 35 adults and three kids...now that's my kind of party!

I can't wait to see Ralph Fiennes as Moldy-Voldy...he's one of my favorite actors and I've seen some pictures already...he looks way creepy!

Brenda, great cruise meet photos!
Oh my! I just saw the photo of you and Paul with the mocha-watcha macallits! :earseek:
How did I spend 7 days on that ship and miss those!

I went to Borders Bookstore the night the Half Blood Prince came out to get my reserved copy. What weirdos there! hahaha.

Oh yeah, Ralph Fiennes, WAY creepy! I kept staring at him thinking "how did they get his nose like that?!" Enjoy and make sure you let me know what you thought! :wizard:
