October 12, 2013 - Western Caribbean on the Fantasy!!!

Awesome that you are thinking about it in a health way, too! Better for the long haul. My husband is a powerlifter (different than a bodybuilder) but was injured about a year ago. Neither of us have been as serious as we need to be since he was hurt. BUT, now that there is a goal in mind *strangers and swimsuits* we are back at it. I really want/need to loose 25-30 lbs, so its about a lb or a bit more per week which is doable or most people, but I have a VERY tough time dropping the weight (horrible family history, recovering bulimic, borderline thyroid issues) plus I am a VERY healthy eater normally so it is tough to "cut out" anything... just gotta get to the calorie burning! :scared: ANd yes, Congrats Kendzee94!!

Thanks guys! It's a whole lot easier if you have a spouse/partner to help you with the weight loss/exercise. I will be taking 1 1/2 weeks off from being good as we are going to WDW for my milestone birthday (shhh, we're surprising the kids) on Saturday, returning Monday. We will leave the following Saturday for my DH's conference in Vegas for a week. I will get back on track once I return....

For those of you not on FB, I have a poll:

Do you want to limit the number of rooms? If so, 15, 20, or 25?

We are also looking at having the cutoff on September 1....

Please give me your thoughts.:)

Also, if I don't have your room number and you are interested in participating in the roaming gnome, please pm me your room number. Thanks!!

I was supposed to be signed up for the FE and roaming gnome... I don't visit this page often as I prefer the FB one...
I've been on the FB one since it was started and this one for over a year I believe...
But anyway, I didn't see our info on the FE
I'll have to find our cabin # but it's me, DH, and DD17

Now I am a first time FE'r, but I would think a cut off would be nice. It allows us all to give more thought to (and put more money into) the individuals we gift. I am also flying to MCO and then traveling to port so packing wise, I can only fit so much no matter how many are participating... 10, 25, or the whole dang boat. But I think most importantly, regardless of money or space, its the thought issue. Im super crafty so I will be handmaking my FE gifts and want to put plenty of time and thought into them and also make them something useful as well as cute and not just "junk" for the sake of participation.

Oh and please vote on the poll....to split or not to split (and where 15,20, 25)

just a funny story... Last night Ricky and I were at his cousins house for dinner and she was talking about a new cruise ship on the RC fleet. Apparently it has this ball thing that you can be suspended in over the water and has clear walls (or something like that.... maybe they auto darken or something, I don't know) that can slide open to adjoin staterooms. It features bumper cars and a circus school you can attend while onboard as well, and "virtual balconies" in the interior cabins that offer live views of your sea travel. And as she was talking, I was totally zoning out and thinking of all the cool stuff WE all get to do... I was thinking about Castaway Cay, ARTIST PALATE (which was literally on my bucket list lol), the FEs, and the verandas, when I blurted out, "And the Aquaduck!". She got all excited and was like, "Whats that, didn't hear about that yet?" Then I laughed and had to explain that its on the ship we are traveling on in October and basically had to give myself up for DisneyDayDreaming (although honestly, when am I not?!). Anyhoo, thought it was funny, maybe you had to be there, but it was also pretty cute to see my hubby, whom looks like a very tough guy; shaved head, short but very muscular, tattooed and tough exterior, stick up for our Disney Fantasy (pun intended) and tell how our trip is going to be way awesome... way better than "stupid bumper cars", he said :p

That's the new ship RC is putting out, right? What can you say? When you love Disney, you love Disney. LOL

Yea it is. I just now have a bit of a sour taste in my mouth from RC though so probably part of why I was tuning her out. We went on our first cruise last year and chose one of the older RC ships (less "party" atmosphere than Carnival, but less expensive than Princess or the nicer RC boats). Granted we wanted something less expensive and shorter in case we were to get seasick or not like cruising; feel like less was lost that way, but I was still disappointed. We found out that many, many others on board paid TONS less than us and were staying in nice accomadations. I know that happens, but the overall atmosphere, food (with exception of the sit down dinners) was eh... pretty boring and blah, boat was in need of a refacing, renovation and redecorating, staff was only OK, and literally 75% of people we talked to spent most of their time RAVING about DISNEY CRUISES!!!! I was sooooo jealous that I had never been on one (especially with my love of Dis), but I am also glad I hadn't yet because we surely would have been even more disappointed than we already were. 174 days, wooooooooooooo!!!

Hello!

We have booked this cruise too :wave2:, our original plan was to do the 12 night med cruise in July but it was working out just too expensive even though flights to Barcelona are much cheaper for us.

This will be our 4th Disney Cruise - all 3 cruises so far have been on the Magic (an Eastern Caribbean and two med cruises) so can't wait to explore the Fantasy.

We are flying into Orlando 3 or 4 days before ( still to book flights - planning to do that this week and have been watching prices like a hawk) and staying at Pop Century - we will probably do a couple of days at the parks.

Our group consists of me DW(40), DH (also 40) and our DD (12).

Would love to join the FE list but I think we'll need all of our luggage allowance for clothes :headache:.

:welcome: to you and your family. Our first Disney cruise was on the Magic in 2007, but we have now also sailed on the Dream in 2011. Looking forward to being on the Fantasy. Now all I need is to somehow sail on the Wonder and then I will have been on all four ships.

Well, my DD Rachel & I started our walking routine last week. Now remember, we have in the past been unactive people. We started out last week walking 1.5 miles 2 days, and this week so far on Mon. we walked 2.2 miles. At least we have increased our distance and time walking. We are supposed to walk today but we have a 50% chance of rain for this evening (we usually start our walk at about 5:45pm after work), so we may need to move it to Thurs. I really want to keep this up because both of us need it. Hopefully after a little time, we will increase to 3 or more times a week. Gotta get healthy!:goodvibes

Good job on your walking! Keep it up, and just keep adding a little more when you feel you can. Maybe by October, you could walk the Castaway Cay 5K! :).

Looks like you were added! Yay!!!

I have to tell you, I was looking at pictures of the stairs to climb on one of the excursions (ziplining) and I thought, I'm gonna die!!!! So my new regimen is a lot of stair walking. I also needed weight to lose as I don't want to scare all the little kids when I'm in my bathing suit :lmao: As of this morning, I'm down 24 lbs.......I hope to lose quite a few more before the cruise!

Congrats on your 24 pounds! Good luck on your continued success!! Never an easy battle, but so worth it to be more healthy. :)

Great job guys on the walking to you and DD and congrats on the 24lb weightloss. I just got done with my workout for the night and my triceps are burning! Wish it was easy (and not so damn tiring!) to make the whole body burn like that, LOL! I need it! Do you ladies walk to any music? Honestly, that can increase your speed without you even really knowing it as can walking with hand and/or ankle weights (Walmart, Target, etc).

On that note, anyone have any info on the Castaway 5K BTW? I may be interested in that... I HATE running but I make myself do it anyway for cardio and would hate it a lot less on vacation!

Anyhoo, hopefully going to Bikram yoga next week to sweat it out a bit. Good luck all, lets keep eachother updated on new losses. 170.5 days of encouragement

What would you like to know about the 5K? I did it with DH last year. I hate running too, but started walking, then eventually ended up running, for weight loss. Started in 2001 and after all these years, I can't quit now, cause I don't want to gain back the weight or give up ice cream. LOL! We always run the running track on the ship too...awesome view, and love the sound of the waves hitting the ship.

Thanks. We just started so we have a long way to go. So far we have not walked to music because we have been walking with my sister so we have been taking the time to visit while we walk. She has been walking for a while and when she walks alone she listens to music. We walk on the our lakefront (northshore of Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana) so it is a beautiful view while we walk.

Thanks for reminding me about the track on the ship. It's on Deck 4 right? Maybe we will take advantage of it and walk while on the cruise.

Okay, we are now down to 170 days!:yay::yay: Hopefully enough time to somewhat get into shape.

Have a great day everyone!:goodvibes
