October 12, 2013 - Western Caribbean on the Fantasy!!!

We are from Minnesota, and greatly looking forward to seeing the sun! It has been a long winter, and a gloomy spring/summer!
The kids can barely handle their excitement for the cruise. It will be here before we know it!
Katie

I hope you get warm weather soon. Here in Louisiana, we are already in the 90s with a heat index of over 100.

You are going to love a Disney Cruise. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise for my DD and myself, but my Aunt's 1st Disney cruise (although she has cruised on Carnival). I am so addicted to DCL! Can't wait to book another cruise while we are on this one. Just not sure when exactly we will go again (maybe 2015). We want to go back to Disney World in 2014, and although I did both this year (WDW in Feb. and DCL this Oct), it takes a lot out of the pocketbook in one year.

"Secluded chamber". I am telling you, sounds mysterious ;). I will look for the bamboo video too, thanks!

Makes it sound very Harry Potter, doesn't it?

We are staying four nights at Disney's Vero Beach Resort prior to the cruise, and they offer a mother/daughter facial with ice cream mani pedi. This could be a lot of fun, or none at all. She would love the mani pedi, for sure. Not so sure about the facial. Continuing to explore my spa options...

Oh this heat! And yours is the soupy kind! We lived in Oklahoma from 05-08 and have been in Texas since 09. You'd think I would have acclimated by now, but I just can't get used to this heat. My internal thermostat is set on Pacific Northwest, and likely always will be.

Yep! We were on a Disney cruise this past September to Canada and met on the Disboards. We became cruise buddies along with another couple that we will reconnect with on a cruise in October 2014! We have since met up a couple of times for shopping and lunch! We split costs of the rainforest room by sharing the couples package which we will probably do again as well as dining in Palo and sharing a cabana(hopefully) on Castaway Cay! She's my Disney BFF!

So fun! Though my husband is not jealous by nature, I am not sure he would be keen on my having a cruise BFF. Do you remember the rules on those rainforest passes? Do they have to be purchased on the first day? Are they couples only, or can I buy a single? I have used the amenities with a treatment, but never on their own, and think I might like to have a daily spa option this time.

Neither of our husbands are rainforest room goers, so it was the perfect match. We were able to get the couple's price and they just charged each of our rooms 1/2 the price of the day pass. You can buy couple or single passes. It appears from other threads here, that if you don't prebuy on the Fantasy ans Dream, you are stuck having to pay the higher price for the other stuff they usually try to upsell you for. I think on our 5 day cruise we did 3 rainforest days. It was a great time to get away from the hubs!

I like your thinking! I know I have gotten a bit obsessed about planning, perhaps I need to relax a bit. It is a vacation after all ;)

Speaking of planning, anyone else staying up late tonight to book things?

So do I trust Concierge will book my cabana or do I do it for myself?

Apparently, according to other concierge reports, they 'hold' some cabanas for concierge...Folks have had the opportunity to reserve one after boarding and meeting with the concierge staff.

They assured me that they will put in my request for the # cabana I want, and tomorrow morning I should have the confirmation.....I think I won't be able to sleep so I will get on at 12:01 am anyway. Ya, I have trust issues! LOL

That's awesome! Doesn't sound promising for me though. Really hoping to get one for my parents.

I just checked again, and only the 2 adult cabanas remain. There are no more family cabanas. I can keep you updated as we get closer!

I'm not stressing too much about not being able to book/check-in until July 14th, because we are not trying for a Cabana, not trying for Palo/Remy, and I think the one excursion we want should still be available. And if the excursion is not available, we will find something else to do. I'm just excited by the fact that if people are starting to book, that means we are that much closer to the cruise!!!!:cool1:

Air booked, and staying at the Ronjon resort the 10th and 11th, has anyone stayed there before?
Now for Palo, and excursions
We are silver so can't book till 7/14

Now for a diversion a 4th of July road trip

My husband was fully aware that kendzee(Barb) and I were "coupling" for the rainforest room. But Barb and I best girlfriends now and I don't think the hubby cares!!!! That's why we booked this cruise. He knows how much fun us girlies had on our last cruise together!!!!

By the way, we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary today!!!!!

What time does the booking window open? Midnight eastern on your appointed booking day, right? I used to know these things...
Yes, you can get on at 12:00am Eastern time...So our booking window was Friday 6/14, and I got on Thursday night/Friday morning at 12:00am. Same goes for booking new cruises, I found out yesterday!
