Can't get that here, thanks to archaic ABC rules. I will look for it next time I go out of state, though. Thanks!

Ugh I meant Ciroc. What are ABC rules?

Wow! Sounds like you had a fun trip just from the one port!!! Any pics to share? Would love to see!!!

Scott is working on post of the pics slowly, but there should be some this week. Seriously, San Juan was incredible!!!

Hmmm...we do have Ciroc in our ABC stores, but I haven't seen coconut. I will take a look next time I am in there. Of course, then I would have to drink my Disney-cruise-only drink at home, for taste-testing purposes. Such a hardship - hahaha!

Only the government is allowed to sell bottled liquor, so we only get to buy what they decide to stock. We miss out on a lot of variety, no lesser-known brands and/or flavors. :-( We also can't drink before noon on Sundays, even in restaurants, and bars that sell liquor but not food are all supposed to be "Members Only" clubs. Welcome to 1920...

We don't care for flavored vodkas, but I can vouch for the quality of Cirroc. We use their "regular" vodka for all our vodka-mixing needs. Good stuff!

As for the cruise, we will purchase whatever booze we feel we need in San Juan before boarding the ship. It's a US unincorporated territory so I don't think there will be any difficulty in finding anything. We are cruising with some friends and have already dubbed this the 'rum voyage" so I suspect that's a lot of what we will be bringing aboard. :thumbsup2

I find regular Ciroc to be not fantastic. It's not bad, but certainly (to me) nowhere near as smooth as Ketel One or Grey Goose. It seems to have some kind of a berry undertone, or something similar that I can't quite detect. Very noticeable in a vodka/soda, almost as if cranberry juice has been added or something.

Interesting.

We think it's smoother than both of those ... it's actually more like a brandy than a vodka because it's been distilled about five times (I think). Our favorite vodka is Zyr, which we purchased out in Vegas a few years ago and have yet to find locally.

The joy of booze is that we all like different things!

So I Googled it, and it turns out Ciroc is made from grapes. I don't know if that has anything to do with its berry tone, but that's fascinating. In any case, my favorite is Tito's - a brand from Texas that I first tried in Austin and have been able to find on various trips to bigger cities. Alas, I still can't buy it at home...

my brother-in-law raves likes a lunatic about Titos ... we haven't tried it yet.

at the end of the day, my hubby and I prefer bourbon and scotch to all other boozes, but we love trying new things! :thumbsup2

It's awesome! But the only liquor I really drink is vodka, so I am a little bit picky. Bourbon and scotch are my hubby's chosen poisons. Haha

I am really not a big social drinker.

I would realy rather just do a few shots of HOT DAMN 100 proof and get a great buzz going and then just drink a diet coke

There are a few things i like My Oldest son and his wife made u a drink for their wedding, and i must have really liked it, iwas drunk before they even got to the reception.

It has alot of different thngs in it..... I will have to ask for the recipe..AGAIN

Do Love Mascato, but i onlyopen a bottle if i dont have to work the next day,
becasue i dont leave any in the bottle.

This is great! I would definitely love to do the Bacardi distillery tour. Thanks for the info!

Since we plan on flying in a few days early, this is one of the things we plan to do.

As far as drinks go, my favorite is something I won't be able to have this time ; a Konk Kooler on Castaway Cay. I'm a vodka drinker too, Stolys, Grey Goose, Absolute or Georgiskia.

Canadian Geese Headed South!
Signed up 2 weeks ago for this cruise and saying hello now! :wave2:

This southern Caribbean itinerary is a dream come true for me, but the kids would much prefer a visit to Castaway Cay. I may have to succumb to the child pressure and change over to the Fantasy, but we love the Magic! For the 3rd cruise in a row, we have the same staterooms! Ok, not balconies, but connected outside staterooms. We last sailed on her in November, and had an awesome time!

November's our favourite time to cruise and this one being in the middle of hurricane season may also change our plans. We'll see how finances go and we'll take it from there.

Our family is me, Barry, 46
DW, Christine - Around my age
DS, Erik - 13 at cruise time
DD, Holly - 11
DS, Peter - 7

So there you have it, if we make it, we'll be heading from near Toronto, Canada. Love the Caribbean, love the Magic and we Love Disney! TTYL!
