Yes, Kristin, your body starts "storing" the drug and after a few days, you have "X" amount in your system. Some people tolarate more of it, or just handle it better. A short lesson.....medication has a "life". Let's just say that life is 24 hours. Let's say you take said drug every 8 hours.
Pill one...full strength, just taken
8 hours later....pill one is at 2/3 strength, pill 2, full strength
16 hours later....pill one is a 1/3 strength, pill 2 is at 2/3 strength and now pill 3 is at full strength
24 hours later....pill one is now about gone, pill 2 is at 1/3 strength, pill 3 is at 2/3 strength and pill 4 is full strength
repeat this cycle.....
HOWEVER, some meds have a longer life then others, so after a few days you have a build up of medication in your system, and some systems just can't handle it. That's why there are some antibiotics you only have to take for 5 days...example, Zithromax. It's because it has a longer life and therefore stays in your system for the full 10 days required for antibiotic treatment. So even though you finished taking your medicine, it's still in your system working away!
I hope this makes sense!!
Okay, now really, I am getting off of here and getting ready to head out! LOL Ya'll are addicting!!
