That is a short time!!!! I don't blame for being over protectuve at al!!!
I'm pretty over protective of my girls......they tell me I'm more strict than their friends parents!!! I just can't help it!!!
I can't help it either, it's a mom thing. How old are you're girls Candy? Maybe they'll thank you some day for being strict??? We can dream right?

I hope no one feels that way here!!!!!

Be back later!!!!!!
It does describe our thread to the letter. :chat: It also describes about three quarters of the threads on this forum. I will also say that when things are really hoppin' on here, :hyper: posts get missed. It has happened to me, and I'm sure most everyone else on here. Is it the end of the world? No. Besides, I thought that was kinda the point...to get to know your fellow cruisers as well as cruise planning...:confused3 The thread for the Panama Canal cruise we went on in March was dead. D E A D dead. You could tell they had "their click" too. I did feel snubbed at the onboard meet. Not here though!!!:rotfl2: :cutie:

Hello everyone!!!!!

I got a phone call at 7 this morning from my mother in law saying she is in a lot of pain and could I come over and help her!!!! She is diabetic and has neropathy (sp?) in her foot and it was really bad today, plus she is taking care of her husband who has alzheimers(sp?) and prostate cancer and is permanently hooked up to a catheter!!!!!
So I went over their, emptied his bag, made breakfast and got everything situated for them! I didn't make it to church this morning and I went back there for lunch and helped them out again until her sister was able to get there....and now I just got home and I'm waiting for Randy and the girls to get home from church so they can eat and we can leave to go see the Magic!!!
My allergies are awful today, but I'm afraid if I take anything I will be a zombie out there and the pictures might come out very blurry from me swaying!!! LOL
They just got home....talk to you all when we get back!!!!!!

Hello everyone!!!

we made it to church this morning!! We have not been in SO long! It was good to get back to routine! Then we came home and changed clothes. I went off to walmart for a few groceries, came home and made macaroni salad and nilla wafer banana pudding dessert!!! I have not had that in a long time, but it just sounded SO good! I have also been doing wash inbetween.....multi-tasking!

Gina!! Welcome home! I know you probably won't see it, so I'll say it again! I AM SO SORRY I missed you the other day!!! {{{{{{GINA}}}}}} It was a long tiring day and my brain was fried! I just knew I would miss someone! I am sorry it was you!!!!!!

Mary, I hope the party goes well and the "Meet The Fockers" goes well too! LOL I too, am an overprotective, helicopter parent! In this day, one has to be! I see some of the kids my boys go to school with, and It is scary!!!

Well, Steve will be home shortly, so I better start the tatertots and light the grill! Hamburgers tonight and steaks tomorrow!!

I'll be back later! I expect to see Magic photos!!!

OH! and I'll add a few bottles of super glue to my list of things to bring on the cruise!

Hey Kristin, yeah it was alot of fun, almost lost my voice though. Too much singing!!!!! I have signed on for Brownie leader next year though. Should be fun!!

Michele, excellent choices, I love Boma and you can't go wrong at the Steakhouse, I enjoyed it there!!

Is Indiana really good????
The Stardust Drive In is actually in Watertown, just down the road. It has 2 screens, and they do double features on both screens every show. Because the concession stand is really the only source of revenue, if you bring food or drinks, they require you to buy a $5 food permit. We always bring our own drinks, but we eat there to support them. They don't allow alcoholic beverages at all. People bring chairs and small tables and have a picnic or sit in the backs of their pickup trucks. I would rather go to the drive in than the theater, unless it's something with a good soundtrack.
I think Indiana Jones was really good. It is typical Indiana Jones. Some people say it was all action and a lame story line. I thought the plot was good, typical Indiana Jones. Some believable and some not....and as always, that Indiana Jones twist!! :teeth:

That looks like a lot of fun........from the pictures, it looks all indoor!!????

LOL, the hotel is on the shore of Lake Superior, if it wasn't indoors no one would ever get in it!!! It was 45 and pouring rain when we left this morning.

OH! and I'll add a few bottles of super glue to my list of things to bring on the cruise!

OK, someone wanna fill me in on this??? LOL

Hi all, we are back! I have only been able to skim the last few days, so I am just going to say a big old blanket "hi :wave2: " to everyone!!!!! I did get that Candy is going to see the Magic, which is totally cool and I can't wait to see pictures.

So, we left Duluth this morning, thinking it would storm there later, it was 45 and rainy, yuck! We drive home, 2 1/2 hours, of course it stops raining about 45 minutes outside of Duluth. We get home, not raining here, not 30 minutes after we pull in, we turn on the TV and hear we have a tornado warning! So, we watch the radar for awhile, and when the hail larger than golfballs start dropping my son freaks until we go in the basement. The splash on the pond from hail that large is amazingly huge! For awhile it looked like the pond was boiling. We were very tense, since in 2005 we sustained $17000 worth of damage to our house from a hailstorm. This time it wasn't really blowing though. So, it's done, we go outside, no damage to note, thank goodness!!!
Not 30 minutes later, her comes round 2! This time they are not as large, but it's blowing. And the rain, holy cow, must have rained 3 inches in about 20 minutes. Just some dents on the metal trim of the house (that we replaced last time). Nothing major but if we fix it (which DH will probably have to do cuz he won't like the dents) it will cost a fair penny I'm sure.
After the storm rolled through here it dropped a few tornados and has now killed a 2 year old and 20 people are missing in another suburb about an hour from here. Thank god none of that happened here!!!!

So, there you have my holiday weekend wrap up LOL.
