thank you!!!! It just drives me crazy to come into school and see kids ASLEEP at thier desks!!! Oh my gosh!! WHAT are these parents thinking?? Colton asked me one night, "why do we eat so early?" I was like what?? He said, "My friends don't eat dinner until like 7" I said, "yes and your friends parents probably don't get home from work until 6, so they can't eat before 7!" I try to have dinner early so they don't come home and garbage up on junk and then don't want to eat at 6. It just works for us. Plus, then we have the evening to do other things if we need to. I can't tell you how many times we went to scouts at 630, and I'll talk to other parents and they say they have to go home and fix dinner, do homework and get the kids to bed. Fix dinner? I've already cleaned up the dishes and finished homework. All mine have to do is shower and go to bed! I would not make a good workind woman. there is just too much that goes on in the house between 3 and 6 for me to be in an office. I am grateful for the "job" i have now. I use the term 'job" loosely. I think it's more fun most days, yet I still get paid! Plus I have the flexability to do what I want, when I want. If I need the day off, chances are, I can. If I want to go to the store, I just pack up the kids and go! Whatever I need to do, I can. Drs appts, haircuts, whatever. Don't get me wrong, I try to schedule as much as I can in the evening, but if I can't, it's not a big deal!

Man have I rambled on! LOL Is there caffeine in this tea????

LOL you're too funny Michele!!!!
I'm the same way!!!! we eat dinner at 5 or 6, meanwhile Josh does his homework while I'm making dinner and then after that they play a bit then bath, story and bed!!!!!! It drives me nuts to see young kids up at 9 or 10!!!!
my sister does that with her daughter, she lets her stay up late and then the next day she gets calls from the teacher saying that she fell asleep LOL and she's only 5!!!! no routine whatsoever.....I told her many times and she wont listen to me:confused3 whatever!!!!!

Congrats on 3500 Candy!!!

We did the "fend for yourself" or "clean out the fridge" night. we had so many leftovers, we had to use them up!

I fel for you too Nancy!!!
That's for sure!!!! We didn't have much of a choice because we are 3 hours behind you all!!!!

Oh......I forgot, we are flying into Ft Lauderdale so we have to drive for at least 3 hours after we land!!!!!:faint:

oh man.....that will be a LONG day for you guys!!!!
for us we chose to fly out of Detroit MI since it's cheaper for us than flying out of Toronto. Hope the kids wont be too grouchy:scared1:
grouchy kids= grouchy mommy:lmao:

Okay..one more story....I was in a group called Moms Club. There was one friend who was complaining that her daughter was a "beotch" allll the time. We started talking and I found out that Dad was getting home from work at bedtime! Once Dad walked in the door, the girl becamed wired! I told her to not worry about what time Dad was getting home, to set a schedule and STICK to it! She did! The daughter was getting ready for bed at 7 and in bed at 730...if Dad made it home, he became a part of the bedtime routine, and she STILL had to go to bed. If he didn't make it home, he could see her in the morning. She called after 2 weeks and THANKED ME! LOL She said, I never dreamed that just sticking to a bed time routine would be so wonderful! this was before she started school even...so maybe when she was 3 or 4? This is something I struggle with with the kids I sit for. Over the weekend, they have NO routine and sometimes, Andrew doesn't get a nap...he's not even 2! So Monday's are Hell for me. Everyone is crabby and tired. I am very routine and they do well during the week. Tuesday the kids were off, so this week, I had 2 Mondays!

But it's the weekend! It's okay that they stay up! It's not a big deal! :sad2: they pay on Monday!!! We've had kids knock on our door at 730 to ask if the boys can come out and play ball....ahhh, No? Then I think, shouldn't YOU be getting ready for bed too??? I have always said, I am a bit OCD when it comes to my kids, but in the end, it's just to make my life easier! LOL Connor is in the recliner just YAWWWWNNING away! LOL

There are a lot of bad sections in detroit!!!!! That why I really enjoyed going into Windsor!!!!! Although, I tried to avoid going through the tunnel under the river!!! I did that a few times and got a little nervous, especially when I would look at the walls and see water trickeling in!!!!:scared1: :scared1:

Ah Cedar Point! that is just 45 mins from where I grew up! We used to go there EVERY summer. Sometimes more then once! It's a growing up memory! we are talking about taking the boys there this summer! We can stay at my Mom's and drive over for the day! We have not been since Colton was about 4 months old! We left him with my Mom and went for the day! That was the first time I'd left him with anyone!
