Candy, you have oppresive heat and we are below normal! We are suppose to be in the mid 70's, but it's just 55 and damp and dreary...shich makes it feel colder then it is. I am seriously going to make me a cup of hot cocoa!! This is just wierd weather we are having! It's suppose to be like this for the whole week! and the kids are suppose to have field days on Wed, Thurs and Friday. Not sure what they will do if the weather doesn't improve! It's a fun day. The kids compete against each other....K against 1st, 2nd against 3rd and then 4th against 5th. The parents come with popup shelters, chairs, drinks and snacks for the day. The kids all have class shirts and then the gym teachers have then compete against each other. they have different races....just running, running while balancing a stuffed frog on a tennis racket, running out to collect cones, crabwalk, 3 legged race and sack races! It literally lasts alllll day!

That sounds like fun!!! I hope the weather cooperates!!!
If not....it might be a good time for Allen's chili!!!!

LOL oh great....poor you Michele
right now they don't have a choice, they are still young enough to still do what I tell them too MOST of the time LOL
plus if they stay up too late they are so miserable the next day and it drives me bananas!!!!!!! So i like them to be well rested....
and now it looks like Josh caught what I had....

I can remember when they were littler and I would put them to bed at 6 or 630 during the winter months! And they would go to sleep! I knew when my boys need sleep! Anyway, one night I was putting them to bed and Colton looked at the clock and said, "But Mom, it's only 630!" I looked at him and said, "Dang teachers! They've taught you to tell time, huh?" Of course he just said YEAH! And was all excited! LOL those days of early to bed were over! Even though they are in 5th and 7th grades, I still try to get them to bed by 830 and lights out at 9. They need sleep!!

I keep trying that with my girls, but it doesn't work!!!!
I guess 16 and 18 are a little too old!!!:lmao: :lmao:

I know! I just dread that 4 am wake up time! Especially since we plan to do BOTH Universal Parks on Saturday! Thankfully, we will be staying on site, so we'll get Front Of The Line Access...which will speed things up. PLUS we have been there twice before. We are looking to do the new things FIRST, then do what we want to redo.

4am IS really early, but at least you'll get there in plenty of time and you could have a nap during the afternoon?
our flight leaves at 8am, but we need to get there 2 hours before and we live 2 hours away so that means we have to leave our house at around 3AM!!!! :scared1:

well you are a great Mom!!!! I have kids who live on my street that play outside until like 9!!! and these are not older kids! I feel sorry for them that their parents don't care!! Josh and Kevin have always gone to bed at 8!!! rarely do they ever stay up later than that unless it's vacation or holidays!

It's a direct flight home, so we'll be home by like 930am....I think we'll all go BACK to bed, then collect the dogs that night!

Should I be worried that my boys are addicted with watching the Jon Stewart show? I keep flipping between it and the Indian's game. It doesn't seem toooo bad....and the language is bleeped out.....hhhmm. Maybe I better watch the whole show one day.........

I know what you mean.....our flight to FL leaves at 7am, and we live about a hour away, but we are going to take this bus called flyaway!!! It's really nice because it's pretty cheap to take this bus to the airport, we don't have to use our gas, and with LA traffic it could take us an hour and a half at least!!!
So we are looking at taking the first flyaway bus at 4:45.......that means we will have to get up at around 3am too!!!!

hmm that sounds like a great idea......maybe I should make some this weekend!!!!!

I feel for you too Candy :lmao: looks like there will be alot of us tired that day!!!!!! LOL

I guess everyone else has a life tonight!!!! Looks like it's just the three of us!!! LOL

I have all the ingredients if want any!!! LOL
I don't think I'll be making any of that for a while...it's too hot!!!!

oh thanks LOL
yeah I think we'll get the ingredients tomorrow and do that sunday!!

thank you!!!! It just drives me crazy to come into school and see kids ASLEEP at thier desks!!! Oh my gosh!! WHAT are these parents thinking?? Colton asked me one night, "why do we eat so early?" I was like what?? He said, "My friends don't eat dinner until like 7" I said, "yes and your friends parents probably don't get home from work until 6, so they can't eat before 7!" I try to have dinner early so they don't come home and garbage up on junk and then don't want to eat at 6. It just works for us. Plus, then we have the evening to do other things if we need to. I can't tell you how many times we went to scouts at 630, and I'll talk to other parents and they say they have to go home and fix dinner, do homework and get the kids to bed. Fix dinner? I've already cleaned up the dishes and finished homework. All mine have to do is shower and go to bed! I would not make a good workind woman. there is just too much that goes on in the house between 3 and 6 for me to be in an office. I am grateful for the "job" i have now. I use the term 'job" loosely. I think it's more fun most days, yet I still get paid! Plus I have the flexability to do what I want, when I want. If I need the day off, chances are, I can. If I want to go to the store, I just pack up the kids and go! Whatever I need to do, I can. Drs appts, haircuts, whatever. Don't get me wrong, I try to schedule as much as I can in the evening, but if I can't, it's not a big deal!

Man have I rambled on! LOL Is there caffeine in this tea????

I feel for you too Candy :lmao: looks like there will be alot of us tired that day!!!!!! LOL
I fel for you too Nancy!!!
That's for sure!!!! We didn't have much of a choice because we are 3 hours behind you all!!!!

Oh......I forgot, we are flying into Ft Lauderdale so we have to drive for at least 3 hours after we land!!!!!:faint:
