I am here!! Just watching TV and surfin' the net
YES! Steve and I didn't get anything, but the boys did. They both got shoes and Colton got a pair of shorts and 2 shirts too. Connor isn't "into" clothes yet. Well, I say that, but he got a pair of Nike Shox and asked if we could go to Hollister! He's going to have expensive taste!! The only thing that would have made the night perfect was if we went to dinner. I think Steve is a bit afraid to eat out. At least at home, he knows how the food is cooked. We have been invited to dinner tomorrow night, so we'll see what he decides. I am sure, no matter where we go, there should be something on the menu that wouldn't make him sick.
He's doing okay for now....but he's really been watching what he eats. Like tonight it was grilled chicken, rice and green beans. Jello for dessert. From what I have read, one should avoid red meat, spicy or heavy food. Avoid beans....like baked or chili....avoid carbinated beverages. Once we get through this, we REALLY need to get back on a diabetic diet. We lost so much wieght, and he was so much healthier then! I was preggers for Connor at the time we found out Steve was diabetic, so we started eating and cooking better. I lost like 15 pounds in my first trimester. I was overweight to begin with. My Dr told me if I didn't start eating better and gaining weight he was going to put me on a diet! We laughed and told him we have been eating better then ever! Once he knew, he was okay with it!
Well, Nancy, I hate to dump you, but I am going to go! I have been putting off this book! I need to get through it. I am getting close to the end now.
To all.....hello and good night!!! LOL
See ya'll tomorrow!!!
wow that's good that he's ok...hope it stays that way though![]()
I too was losing weight when I was preggo with Josh...had gestational diabetes and was on a very strict low carb diet. But I had to do it or else I would of needed shots and I didn't want to go through that. it was enough for me to pick my fingers 4 times a day to see if my sugar levels were too high uhh that was NOT fun..the whole pregnancy I gained like 18 pounds and it was all baby, after Josh was born I weighed less than I did before I got pregnant LOL but I gained everthing back later![]()
You need to watch. You do know that most women who have had GD will have Type 2 Diabetes later in life. Just be aware of the signs of diabetes and test once in a while!
The little girl around the corner, she's in 2nd grade, so that makes her about 7? She was in ICU this week with a blood sugar of over 900!! They said she is very lucky. For the last few weeks she has been VERY thirsty and peeing alot and losing weight. They took her to the Dr and he did the simple blood test and admitted her! She will now live with Diabetes her whole life.
Good Night ya'll!!!
Nighty night MichelleGood Night ya'll!!!
Awsome day we had. Took off to the stores to do some shopping. Spent a pile of cash but it was all worth it. Prepped dinner and left it in the fridge to marinate. Chicken breasts stuffed with spinach and feta and dowsed in sundried tomato salad dressing. Nancy made an awsome rice and veggie mixture and we also had a spring mix salad. Almost sounds too healthy but it's so good.
We detailed both cars, vaccuumed and washed. The poor Breeze has never been washed since I've owned it so it just might die of shock really soon. I ran out of polish so couldn't do that, it's on the list of things to do really soon.
What's next? Hmmm oh yes I remember. Where can I get a pink hardhat? Looking good Allen
Thats how I knew I had it. A guy at work had a glucose meter, and checked mine one day, and it was well over 300. My first HBA1C was 11.8. Thats an average of about 240 over 3 months. Now it's 5.8 - 5.9 (less than 120). I am due another next month....I've been on a cruise and I've been bad!! We'll see how this one goes...You need to watch.
