But if you have a really good contractor that is really good at mudding he OR SHE can usually get away with very little sanding. Most of us really have no idea what we are doing so we buy premixed. These guys get powder and add the water to the consistancy they want.
All I did this time is buy the low dusting premixed. It works well but you get about half the coverage of a normal bucket. The clean up is quicker but dust is dust....

My contractor seems to think that they will have to do very little sanding this is good since my lung is not liking this addition and dust very much. Just hoping that it will stay up and not collapase at all!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve has gotten very good at it, so dust is way less than it used to be. Still messy though. This is a really large room though, gonna take a lot more work, he'll be so happy when he's doing it LOL.
Nancy and I did the basement wreck room last year. I really did not enjoy the ceiling part of it and even went a little too light because we really needed to finish it off and I couldn't find my 10 inch mud knife so a year later, thanks soooo much to gas heat and how it dries out a house, I see the indents of the joints. I can see it because I know where they are but most everyone is quite happy with the job I did.
Have a good night :)

Sounds, like it still came out good though!!!!!!!!!

You should be fine. The pros really should be good at it

Night ALL..

Going for a massage tomorrow morning at nine. SO got to get up and get out of here...LOL!!!!!!!!

I think I finished all the signs i need...they still need cardstock and lamenated. Now we are enjoying a bag of Jelly Bellys! THey are SO Flavorful!!!!!

Have you checked out the Jelly Belly website and seen their belly flops? We used to LOVE to get those at the factory! 1/2 price of the regular jelly belly's, just misshapen or missing the jelly belly stamp... :)

I think I'm going to hate the sanding even more than the mudding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My dad sands 1 time, then finishes with a damp sponge. Very little dust, relatively speaking. The dust is like flour, and gets everywhere.
that sounds like alot of work!!! Denis and I did the basement last year and it was hard work putting those huge heavy sheets on the ceiling!!!!!!
They make a drywall lift for that!! They are cool. 1 person can hang drywall on a ceiling with it. place the sheet on the carrier, lay it over, raise the sheet by the spin of a wheel, and shoot screws...easy!!

BTW, Mom (Danzer45) had her rotator cuff surgery today (Friday). Everything went well. She will be back on the board soon.

Hello all!!!
Sorry I missed you tonight....I had to take Shannon to her horseback riding troop! She was so happy tonight because she was able to get her horse to lope a lot.....usually she only trots because they are to busy working the drills, but because there weren't very many people there, they were able to take turns loping!!!

Kristin, I so glad your house is getting close!!! The dust from the sheet rock is no fun! Hopefully your contractor will be the one who wipes down the walls with a damp cloth....I hated that part...but, of course we had over a thousand square feet of walls to wipe down!!! Ugh!!!
I hope all goes well for you!!!

Michele,
I hope all goes well with the carnival!!! And I hope everybody appreciates all the work you are putting into it!!!

It's no fun talking to myself, but I'm going to get 300!!!!
I have to wait until Allen is asleep.......that's the only way I can steal it from him!!!:lmao: pirate:
