Hey everyone, Im sorry to post here if this isnt to be posted here but I am just curious as to what "Parrothead Pirates in Paradise" Is? Because I am excited to say that I will be sailing with you guys on the Magic in October and would love to see some fellow DIS'ERS I hope that I am not bothering anyone posting here but just wanted to say Hey!

well Hello to you too! And welcome aboard... there are a slew of us here, and some are mega posters, others not so much..... I have NO idea why the name parrothead pirates in paradise, but it is kinda cute and fun!

As you can see from my signature, DH and I have 2 boy children coming along with us, and I am planning some surprises for DH on board (we have not had much time to be alone for the last... 12 yrs as our youngest has serious health issues). Celebrating our 27th anniversary, early, and planning on having a great time!!!

Some may know that we are alumni of the University of Oregon. With that, we are huge Oregon Duck fans. This past Sunday, our football suffered a tragedy from a freak accident. It is quite sad. Attached is a story that if you read the last few sentences will just make your jaw drop.

Gosh i've been gone so long and then i couldn't find you.. i can't keep up. has anyone bought or used walkie talkies on cruise before, i want to keep up with teen daughter. any suggestions

We used walkies to keep up with our 13 year old last year. She was in the teen group. She contacted us when she was in transit from anywhere to anywhere else. They worked very well, only a few times did we get static, but she would keep moving and we'd get a signal soon. It would be a good idea to use the white board or post-its at the room just to let them know where you are so they could find you if the walkies didn't work.

She also used the public areas for moving. We asked her not to be in the stateroom hallways, but to use the public decks for travel and then go up or down by stairs or elevator to get to the room. It seemed to work well and she was a good sport about it.

Certainly give us a heads up any time you plan to come to to. We could do a BBQ and the kids can swim swim swim. Our pool is just lovely!

Parrothead Pirates in Paradise is just a name we gave ourselves for the group!!!

Good to hear... we're well too. Very busy though, Michelle left with Rebecca today with my sister to the cottage. Maggie is in Quebec. So I'm alone until friday when I head up north too. Hence I get to check out whats happening here, but I'm sure I'll fall asleep in no time.

If anyone is interested...there's a great program on the History channel about UFO's and Area51. I love that stuff......

I gonna book both nights for daycare to make sure I cover both possiblities.

Hi Candy,

Your right about the reference to Parrothead and Jimmy Buffet. The groups name was in existence before my arrival, but that's what I have always assumed it meant. I certainly hope so, since we've been listening to Sirius's margarittaville non stop to get us in the cruise mood.
