Very exciting! I was thinking about having the kids make one of those countdown strands, you know, like at Christmas with paper rings linked together? LOL...

I like that idea!! They have been asking me nearly everyday, how many days now?? Maybe just a dry erase/chaulk board might be fun too.....just change the days left everyday. I think I see another trip to the dollar tree!!

The plans are laid, the boys will be going to Granny and Papaw's for a few days!! too bad I can't have a few days off from work too!! But alas, she is going out of town, so I am needed!!!

hmm I really like the dry erase board idea!!!! I think we'll do that. I had an extra one that we got from the dollar store a few months back.

CRUISE RELATED
 I just heard back from Godfrey and he said we LEAVE the beach at 3:30!!! So there is PLENTY of time and we wont miss the ship!!!!!!

I read on the main board that they have been having problems with the vendor.:confused3

With my crew, it would be at least 22. We would have at least 6!

Depends on where it comes from. In your vacation guide that DCL sent, read the "Setting Sail" section. I details the customs allowances for everything including alcohol.

With that many I would really imagine the private tour per person cost would be no more than the regular tour rate. It might even be less...you know...group rate.

Now I just need to get in touch with Bernard's Tour for St. Maarten and ask him how much a private tour would be for 20 people.
But maybe everyone should give me their "wish list" on stuff to see there and see if we want all the same things?

We want to do the Butterfly Farm, Zoo and Maho Beach for sure! we just want to keep the boys happy and not bored sitting for too long!!!!

Hi everyone! Just thought I would check in and end my serial lerking problem. I'm BigRed1's BIL, BILL have been keeping tabs on the boards for a while now and looking forward to meeting everyone starting at the CI&S and again onboard. This is my 7th Disney cruise and 4th Eastern so I'm a wealth of useless knowledge and will try to help/keep up anyway I can. Last year on
St Martin we went into town and rented 4 wheelers and maid a loop around the island. It was AWESOME we were on our time got to stop anywhere. We
stopped at Orient Beach and it was beautiful, the nudity is really not bad as long as you stay on the northern end. The further south you go the more nudes. It is really worth the trip.

:welcome: Bill and Family!!!!!!! great to see you here! looks like we will be seeing you at Country Inn and Suites !!!!
do you have a picture of the 4 wheelers? just curious to see what they look like!!!!!!! are the roads well marked? having never been there we feel a little intimidated driving there on our first visit!

Welcome Bill and family!!!!! I am glad you came out of lurker mode!!

Nancy, we are pretty much up for anything. My main reasons for booking Bernard were the fact that we got a tour of the whole island, seeing the main highlights, and of course, Maho beach. I would like a stop at the beach too. It's just too pretty to pass up!! Maybe we could ask for a beach break around lunch time...like he has in his regular agenda? Let us know what you come up with!

The 4 wheelers are just standard size big enough for my wife and I to double on. The roads are easy to navigate, the main road makes a loop around the island so it's really easy. It was just 70.00 to rent.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't been on a 4 wheeler in ages. I don't know if rich has ever been on 1.

Wsa the 70.00 for the day? Or do they rent by the hour? I was also thinking of renting a car maybe. And then again we just might walk places or take a cab if that isn't too expensive.

NOW i know why yall wanna go to the beach and watch the big planes land.

Can we say stand up and touch the landing gear? OMG:lmao:

WOW

Packing Question for the ladies

How are yall transporting your jewelry, specifically necklaces, to the ship. Is there something specific you do to keep the chains from getting tangled?

Hi Maureen! Feeling any better today? They say that day 3 of a cold is the worse day, I hope this is day 4!!

As for jewelry, I fortunatly, or is it really unfortunatly, have only one good necklace and I will wear it when traveling. I will bring other peices, but I have a travel box that I'll put them in and most likely put in a carry on. I just did a quick google search, and there are TONS of travel boxes out there! I might see about getting a new one. The one I have my sister got me YEARS ago. It only has 6 squares with a mirrored lid. Not really good for bulky necklaces...I usually use an old box they originally came in. Anyway, I bet any store that sells jewelry would have one!

Well if it's my diamonds, I wrap them in silk. The emeralds are wrapped in velvet and the rubies and pearls in satin.......:lmao:

Sorry, couldn't resist. Actually I put each one in a mini ziploc and then all my ziplocs go in a little satin zip bag.

Depends on how I look at my cold. Since the medicine kicked in and has started doing its job, my cold seems better but feels worse if you know what i mean. And I have no idea if day 3 or 4, though its at least day 3.

I was looking thorugh ebags last week was it, and found a lot of jewelry bags out there, almost too many. I'm bringing 1 special necklace and 3 costume pieces, 1 of which i will probably wear when i get on the ship. But I have 2 days of travel b4hand. I don't really want to spend time taking out knots, though I think my nice necklace is good to go.

That's a very good line. I like that 1.

It was 70.00 for the day and we have rented cars there also and it was only 75.00 for a little jeep.
