I've heard about those fires. I gotta admit I won't feel bad if Oprah's home burns down. But your mom's...yeah I'll feel bad. Keeping my fingers crossed for her and prayers.

I would feel bad if anyones house burned down, no matter how rich. It's still her home and I'm sure she would have personal irreplaceable items just like us poor folk would.

I would feel bad if anyones house burned down, no matter how rich. It's still her home and I'm sure she would have personal irreplaceable items just like us poor folk would.

I should feel bad I know. ON the other hand I'm so tired of the Great Almighty Oprah, that right this minute I'm having a hard time feeling bad for her house. Wrong I know, but there it is. It'll pass but i don't know when.

Now if there were anybody in the house when it burned down, or pets. I'd feel bad right now. So I'm not completely off my rocker. Just a little.

I am still here, just floating around. Had to get my shower, clean the bathroom, sort and start the wash, now I need to run the sweeper and clean the downstairs bathroom too! Thought about washing my kitchen floor, but I might wait a day or 2. I just had 8 paws track across and leave wet marks. It would be a loosing battle, so I won't fight it!

Trying to decide on dinner....I am thinking of putting meatballs and italian sausage with sauce in the crock to simmer, then I'll boil the tortellini later.

Oh my I just gained 5 pounds and now Nancy tells me I am foaming at the mouth. Oh please tell me you are going to grate 3 or 4 pounds of cheese overtop when you plate it.

I would feel bad if anyone lost their house. Think about the memories, her photos etc. that can not be replaced. Money can not replace memories....

I can't even convince myself that I'd feel terribly bad if MY house burned down. I'd feel horrible if Richard or Rally burned with it. They are irreplaceable. Everything else is just stuff. Its insured. That's wrong maybe, but there it is.

I'm sorry if that's wrong. And if you want me to leave for that then I will. But that's how it is for me.

I never said you should leave, it's just a little incensitive that's all. and I realize it's your opinion........Some people have put more value in their "stuff" than you do I guess. I would be in tears if I lost my house, we worked hard to put all that "stuff" in here. not to mention all the momentos we have of the boys growing up!!! just my 2 cents

I just have to comment on this Oprah thing....and I am sorry if I hurt your feelings, but since you laid it out here....

You might not like Oprah as a person, I understand not everyone does, but she worked VERY hard to get what she has today AND she gives TREMNEDOUSLY to various people and organizations. Every cent she has, shse earned and if half of us would get up off our hind ends and do half of what she does, then maybe we would ALL be better off in this world!

I have a neighbor that I don't like. She and I used to talk, the kids used to play, but we have had our outs and we are done. However, I would NEVER wish her house gone and would feel horrible if something happend to it. I might not like her, but I would never want to see her suffer like that. As Erika said, that's just cold.

Okay, I am getting down off my soapbox now and heading to Walmart. I'll be sure to by myself a flame suit. I might need it when I get back.

Yes, it is awful that people are losing their homes, no matter who it is.

But honestly, she didn't WISH that Oprah's house was burned... she only said she wouldn't feel bad... to me that means she wouldn't be all upset about it. Frankly, I wouldn't either. I don't know Oprah, I dont watch her show, nor do I read her magazine. I know she does good things around the world, and yeah, it would be sad to lose personal momento's... but I guess I save my "upset" or sad/bad/heart hurting feelings for things that matter more, like my friend in Southern Calif who's son went through a mulitvisceral transplant over the summer and has been in the hospital and mom had to give birth and live away from her own home for the last 4 months. And for the family who had to say goodbye to their own son yet felt enough love that they donated his organs so that this little boy could live...

Ok, so I guess you know where MY soap box lies!! I guess I just think that the word COLD was awfully harsh to use in this particular instance.

Off to pick up my beloved thespian son from rehearsal... be back later!
