I say slippers too and the rednecks here would also wear them to Walmart!! Drives me nuts too.
I have never ever gotten an email offer either. I suppose they figure we own DVC and buy AP so why offer us enticements cuz they know they've got us anyway!
See what you can do with a Blackberry, post on the DIS!

LOL I know, it's another expense! it actually will only raise our cell phone bill $20 a month per phone. Steve says he can justify it because he can use it at work to access the State Board of Pharmacy website, Rite Aid's website, email his bosses, etc. I can't really justify it, other then it's cool, sometimes Jen takes her laptop with her to work, so I am left without...boo hoo LOL....and it might give the boys something to do while we are waiting at Dr appts etc. I could use it while waiting to pick the boys up and while sitting at the ball field...of course, those days are now over, but there is always next year!!! It's not a done deal, yet.....
Oh come on now, you're talking yourself into it as we speak LOL

We buy an annual pass in October, use it for 2 October trips, then start with a new one the following year (before cruising of course). Which is another part of going to WDW in August of 2010, we could buy the AP this October. It's sooooooooooooo much more cost effective than hoppers which we'd have to buy if we weren't going again in less than a year.

I wish it was 42 here, we haven't seen 40 in days. We've had nasty ice and snow since yesterday. Yuck!

Yes, that is what we have found with the Annual Pass... Ok, off to have the kiddies make the bus for only the fourth time since we have been home from the cruise. Then going walking with a friend in the cold....UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good morning everyone!!

Kristin I was here last night just didn't feel like posting:)

I would call those house shoes or slippers. ALTHOUGH, the hillbillies around here would wear them to Walmart with their pajama pants. That has become a pet peeve of mine! LOL WHY do people think it's okay to wear pajama pants to the store?? I KNOW they are comfy, but they are for lounging around the house or sleeping in! NOT going to the store to get groceries or diapers! stepping down off my soapbox now! LOL

Ugg does a version of this same shoe. A few weeks ago, at the mall in Johnson City, TN, Merkie was trying on all the shoes and I asked the lady at the store the same ? about the Uggs. She said that they are considered an indoor/outdoor slipper intended to be worn everyday. Merkie didn't buy those, she got boots. However, she decided that she wanted the Maccosins (?spelling) also. I got on Ugg website to order them and the shoes Merkie ordered were labeled as indoor/outdoor slippers. I paid $100 for them and she will definitely wear them out. It would be nuts to pay $40.00 to $100.00 for house slippers, when you can pick up perfectly good ones at Walmart for $3.00 most times.

Did anyone here get an email from Disney Destinations with a pin number? I guess there are 3 offers....a child 3-9 stays, plays and dines for free with a paying adult, free dining or a $500 gift card with booking. All of these also say, with a 5night/5day value resort stay.

I actually figured it out and the 4/3 deal is a better bargain.

Just curious!

I didn't get this one. Can you send me the link?

I am home today. Merkie is not feeling well. She slept to 10:30. I'm cleaning house though. I don't know what my problem is. I have always kept my house spotless. For some reason, since getting back from the cruise, I just can't get back into the swing of things. Not just with the house. I've become a procrastinator all the way around. I'm determined to get my house in order today.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Wow, I am looking at credit card statements from June/July, on 6/30 I paid 66.17 for gas and on 7/15 I paid 63.81. Today I paid $30.00 to fill up! Wow, that is a crazy price difference in a pretty short time frame! I am most curious to see how low it will really go.

I was dead empty yesterday and filled up for $31.00. I was paying in excess of $60.00 in July to. Our gas is down to $2.18 a gallon and it was in the $3.85-$3.95 range in July. Our's started coming down the week of our cruise and just keeps going. We were discussing at lunch on Monday that as the economy gets worse, gas prices drop. That's crazy.

Gail, I too, have had a hard time getting back in the swing of things. My excuse was football everynight and just not having the time to take care of things. Now, I can't use that as an excuse anymore! Although, I COULD blame it on the upcoming holidays, right??? Okay, I'll get back in a groove!!

I have plantar facitis, basically a pulled muscle in the bottom of your foot that never gets a chance to heal since you walk on it all the time. My arch has been bothering me for about 2 weeks now and it stems from the pf. I have to be picky about my shoes. Tennis shoes only last me a few months, 6 if I am lucky, and I can't buy shoes from Walmart or Target, they have to have really good support, cushioning and structure. I wear my tennis shoes from the minute I get dressed until I go to bed. If I try and wear "cute" shoes, I'll pay for it for days later. Don't get me wrong, I still wear dress shoes, but whenever I can get away with it, tennis shoes are my first pick. I even have the boys "trained". I can't even imagine walking around the parks for an entire day in flip flops or unsupported sandles!! It just blows my mind!! The boys know now, we are going to the parks, we wear tennis shoes. I love Birkenstocks for their support, but I have never tried going to the parks in them. During our 2007 trip, our tennies got wet, so we all wore our Crocs the next day. Mistake. We were all complaining by the end of the day.

That said, I could never see wearing those little slippers to school, the mall or dinner! I guess everyone is different.

Here is the one thread about the pin numbers that some folks are getting...

I think there is another thread or 2, but I didn't see it. :confused3

Michele, have you ever tried Birkenstocks with the soft footbed????? Heaven, I wouldn't do the parks without them, they are the only shoes I wear to the parks!!!!!!!!!!!

what gets me, it said in the paper this morning that crude is down 62% and fuel is down 35%. Shouldn't the percentages be just a WEE bit closer?? Exxon is STILL making money hand over fist!

I was on dead empty last week and filled up for $70. In July, that would have been closer to $100!! Gotta love that big truck!! LOL

I have had 4 pairs of Birks. I love them, but I have always been afraid to wear them to the park though! Silly, I know. I said this past summer that I needed a new pair and I didn't get them. I WILL get them before we go in June. I'll have to keep my eye on QVC. They have some good prices and sometimes a Today's Special Value on them.

Try the soft footbed ones, they only come in a couple styles, but they are comfy like slippers, no break in time needed like regular birks! QVC has never had them as far as I've seen, not everyone carries the soft ones.
