October 11-18, 2008 Disney Magic Parrothead Pirates in Paradise Chapter 12

I'm sure they are busy delivering this morning!! I have been talking back and forth with Shirley for a couple of weeks. Her oldest son had surgery last week for a tumor they thought was clean, but turned out to be dirty. They had to go back in again, and they think they got it all this time. I had emailed her about my baskets and she ask if I could wait until this week. I know she has been very busy, so I think will call the shop myself. She has a great crew working for her.

oh gosh I hope her son will be ok!!! how sad!
I have to call during weekends, I don't have much free time during the week.
I knew they would be busy during mornings and all that's why I want to wait for the afternoon!

Hey Kristin....still up from yesterday. I've already worked 13 hours. Both sergeants for day watch called in sick, so I'm going to keep on going until I can't go anymore....probably around 7 more hours!!!!

I would love to go to WDW at the end of August beginning of Sept, but our school starts the last week of August AND if Connor is playing football, that would be the first game, he'd miss practices, etc. We have not even talked about what we are going to do for vacation next year.

after we're done with apple picking today I want to do a yard cleanup and put away all the summer stuff and get rid of all the broken toys.

Today must be birthday party day. I am taking Merkie to one also. The one we are going to is a rollerskating party. I told Merkie she had better be careful because if she falls and gets hurt right before the cruise it will ruin all the fun for her. I really had hoped she would decide not to go to the party, but no luck.

Merkie and I are going to book a trip during this same time period. Dreams Unlimited is working on some quotes for me. We are hoping for the free dinning again this year.

Excellent! We certain need to discuss dates at a group get together and your DD is pretty close to the same age as ours. Hopefully we can all stay near one another...

I still have no idea if we even want to do that, but I was guessing if we did, he'd be booked. We'll see. I would like to go to Maho, just not sure how to get there. Steve doesn't really want to drive, so I guess that leaves cabbies.

We were down to about 3.25 to 3.50 a gallon before Ike.....Gas never got over $4 a gallon here at it's highest.....until Ike!! It jumped to anywhere from 3.99 to 5.25 a gallon. Tonight I paid 3.89, and I saw some 4.99. There were no people at their pumps!!!

Yikes, $5.25! The highest we went this summer was $4.29, we were down to $3.39 at the lowest pre -Ike, when it spiked up 40 cents in 24 hours. Yesterday it dropped 30 cents in one day (I've NEVER seen a drop like that) back to $3.39.

Do you want me to make it even scarier for you? I voiced my concern about chaperoning because I really don't know any of the kids but my friends daughter. This is a different high school than the only I am normally associated with. I told Estill that I didn't think any of those kids would listen to a thing that I said. He told me that he didn't really expect me to actually do anything. He just needs to be able to certify to the Board of Education that the correct number of adults are going to get the trip approved. In other words, there is going to be 150 high school seniors on the ship without their parents, and no one watching them. Now mix that with a ship that has a party atmosphere anyway. Are you starting to see my concern?

That just sounds like a bad idea to me. The free cruise sounds great, but the 150 seniors part just sounds like major trouble.
