I can't believe passengers would yell at a mechanic!! The ticket agents and flight attendants no doubt get the worst, they are the face of any airline. They get my utmost respect! It is a wealth of travel information, tips and news you won't find anywhere else.To be honest. I work for an airline and I've had passengers yell at me. I'm a mechanic, planes break, we fix them. Not always that simple. Ticket agents and flight attendants get the worst of it, most of us would never see it but when I've had the same airplane break on me 3 times. People get ticked off and they vent. I would never release an airplane back into service until it can get you to your destination safely. The wording on every maintenance release basically tells you if you sign it and lie you will go to jail.
I can't comment on a ticket agent's actions, I only know what some of us go through on a daily basis and there is usually more than one side to a story...
