We are back from SoCal and it turned out to be a rewarding trip.

My father was released from the hospital on Friday, so he was able to attend the game. His physical recover has been amazing, but his cognitive status is still questionable. He will need to move into an assisted living setting in the very near future. However, he was able to handle all of the hoopla on Saturday night pretty well. It was a little overwhelming, at one point there was said to be a few thousand people in line for his autograph - who would have thunk it - really who would want my dad's signature? He stuck it out until the end. His friends from NASA were in attendance and they treated it as a retirement party. He is officially retired now after 50 years with NASA. He unofficially retired a few years ago, but has been writing a book at Dryden since that time. They presented him with a poster that pictured many of the planes he had flown over the 50 years. One included all of us kids with him by the X-248 (I think). Maybe I could take a picture of it. Below is a article they wrote in the local paper.

Morning all, Jacob and his friend have their first paper route so today is the first day that they deliver, they are so excited. OF course, they think its great now, I'll make sure to ask that question in February!!!!!!

Hi Everyone...Im on here a little earlier than normal...Chris decided to wake up early today I just hope he is as willing to wake up early on friday...cause our flight LEAVES at 8 I believe it is...

To heck with a phone with a cord, how about one you have to put a coin in to use!?

BTW, a QWERTY keyboard is what you are typing on now. Some cell phones have a keypad that is just like the one you are typing on, some don't. Mine doesn't, so I have to push the buttons like 3 times! LOL I am sure, soon enough, all phones with have a QWERTY key board. (named QWERTY as that is the top left row of the keyboard)

The kids are jumping on the trampoline and I'm finally getting to sit down.... Dropped my dress off to get altered and all of the dry cleaning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like its going to rain here as well It has everyday so far so I guess today shouldnt really be any different

Im trying to get everything cleaned up around here before we leave but the more I clean...the more it gets me irritated because with a 3 year old...you know how that goes. I pick up his toys...he brings them back out...And it begins again And the ferrets are not any better. I am actually not to be mean but considering finding them a new home. They are more work than Chris. I love them but the one is a REAL BITER...OUCH. I have worked with her and nothing is working. I am getting scared to clean their cage she bites so hard and for no reason And for some reason they are also wanting to give me more work this week. I keep sweeping up around their cage...and they have tossed over half of their food onto the floor and they are litter box trained but for some reason today the are pooping outside of their box and it keeps going on the floor Its nasty and irritating. The more I clean, the more I cant get done because of them.

My dad is here and he is going to be watching the house while we are gone...but I have a feeling that the ferrets are going to be too much for him, they are too much for me!! The cat is no problem at all...Just fill her automatic feeder and waterer and she has the automatic litterbox so I just clean that out before we leave and she is good to go. I suddenly like my cat a lot more

Mikes grandparents live in Detroit and another set in Battlecreek...So we know the detroit airport well

They are not worth the trouble and stress that they cause between Chris and myself

I LOVE animals but some are just not the right ones for us and I learned that Ferrets do not work well with us

I gotta get ready to put Chris down for his nap...He was doing fine for a while without one, but recently he has been getting REALLY crabby and having night terrors at bedtime(he has had them since he was about a year old) If he doesnt get his nap.

hope he gets a good nap then!!!!! nightmares are sad for little ones I know!!! Kevin sometimes has them too and when I ask him about it, they seem so silly and you wouldn't think of it being scary at all, but I guess for a 3 year old everything CAN be scary for them!!!

Just one more day of work and I'm on vacation!!! Too bad I'm not going any where! LOL Actually, she said she would be home by Noon tomorrow, so only a half day! YEAH!

Allen, the tweeked design is great. I might have to think about how I want to do the shirts!

Kristin, do you suppose we could get the kids a game card to QuarterMasters? Is there a minimum? and then for the adults....I wish there was a way to get a gift card...then they could use it on a drink or a meal or in the gift shop or something? Or maybe we could find something in the shop for the adults? I am thinking something in the $10 range? I would be willing to front the money for this if no one else can. I think it's a great idea! What fun! Is this an "eat as many as you can in X amount of time" or is it "one bar and whoever finishes first wins"?

I have a roast in the oven and I think I am going to run to Cato's to see what they have. My friend said she got capris for $10 the other day! Maybe I might get lucky! I have never bothered to shop there, but several people have found good deals and nice clothes!
