You'll love universal. We have been there too many times to count accept Harry Potter wasnt done yet on our last visit. Its a great park. You have to walk a bit to get to the park from the parking area but its not too bad unless its 100 degrees.
There are a few shops and a huge movie complex before you enter the park.
After you've had your fill of the parks for the day be sure and go through the hsops. They have some unusual things. Plus near the race cars you'll see there is a great ice cream/ frozen yogurt shop. Its back out of site behind a building, so look for the sing. Its quiet and relaxing to sit and reflect ont he day while having one last treat before heading back to your room. Their stuff is really good and not too expensive. Most people never even see its there.
Sorry I havnt been around much lately. I have been planning 2 different family get togethers. One is easy with my immediate family but the other one is a reunion for my dads side of the family. My dad and all of his 12 siblings are dead now,so to find all my lost cousins and their families has been a huge challenge.
I havnt seen or heard from them for a good 45 years.
Of course everyone has grown up, married which changed names or moved away from their home town.
Eventually I found one cousin, who lead me to another and now I have found 12 cousins.

One of them is almost 80 and she found some notes about my dads siblings that he rmother wrote before she died and my cousin is going to send me a copy of it.
Hopefully that will lead me to more cousins.
So far with the people i have found, if you add their spouses, kids and grandkds we are up to almost 50 people, all who want to come.

Its kept me more busy than I thought it would but I am very happy with the results I am getting.
So I will be reading here more than posting in the new few weeks so I can get all the details together.I need to reserve a picnic area, make invitations and send them out, figure out who is bringing what food, find out if there are any diet restrictions like diabetes so we can make sure we have things everyone can eat. Get chairs with backs on them for the older people to sit on. Picnic tables have benches with no backs. Many are 70+.
Plus I want everyone to send me aphoto of their parents so i can make a memory wall for everyone to enjoy for those who have passed on.
I also want to make name tags with a persons first name, then under that I want to put their parents name so we know who is who. Plus I am still searching for 4 familes.
oh yes, I have NEVER done anything like this before
Any suggestions would be appreciated to make this a fun event for all ages??
will be back when I get some spare time, but I will be reading posts to keep up with things,
Kathy
