Oct 28, 2007, Halloween 4-night cruise on Wonder

Hi All....I sort of fell off the face of the earth there for a little while....I had cellulitis and went into the hospital and had surgery on my legs. After the hospital, it's been a long slow healing process. I'm much better now. The only sad part is that I won't be able to go in the water because my one leg is not fully healed. I'll have to keep it wrapped and no getting it wet....so no pool, no hot tub, no swimming excursions for me....but at least I'm going and I'm happy about that.....10 more days and a wake up until we leave here! I'm so excited and can't wait. I've got lots of laundry to do and packing before I'm going to be ready. I'll have to get on that this week.

Does everyone have their Halloween costumes? DH and I have ours....we're just going as pirates so that we'll be able to reuse them on pirates night. We have two more booked cruises coming up in this next year and one cruise planned, but it's too early to book yet for 2009. Can you say....happy now!

I have a good friend from college that lives near lancaster too, in Elizabethtown.

I hope the weather here holds up prior to trip. 2 years ago we went to WDW for DS's 3rd bday. 2 days before we left it snowed about 2 inches here and at least 8 inches in Johnstown (where my parents live.) We were all glad to head south. We met a couple from Canada and they said they hadn't even gotten snow yet. That's life in south western PA. Last monday it was 88 and thur it was 55.

Picking up docs tomorrow from TA...makes the vacation "official". Can't wait.

Guest bedroon is now full of clothing and stuff for vacation. Tried to pull most of the stuff I know we are taking for sure. I might have to consolidate a bit...

GO EAGLES, GO STEELERS!!!!! Hi fellow PAs....I love Lancaster and the surrounding areas....I got my last dog from a breeder around there....and he was the best dog I ever had.

I haven't been to Western PA very much....it's a long ride from my side.

I'm in the Pocono Mountains....we get snow too!!!

I always pick out what I want to bring and then cut it in half and I still bring too much stuff!!!

I am crazy when it comes to organization/details, so I have my vacation info (for the most part) down from 3 pages of a legal pad to a 3x5 index card for each day. dining times, restaurants, must see & do for each day @ WDW and important cruise info, although not as much per day there (diser meets listed!!) Feeling good about my plans...now have to decide how much cash to bring on trip, but mostly charge everything, so it should be minimal. Not sure about giving tips as cash or credit?

I scrambled to get to the TA before closing yesterday to get our documents. They really don't tell you much about what's going on related to Halloween. Made our luggage tags today and have started packing. DH thinks I'm nuts to be packing so early. Can't wait. Two weeks from today we'll be in Cocoa Beach!

We're staying in Cocoa Beach for 2 nights prior to sailing. Where are you staying? We'll be at the Holiday Inn Oceanside. How many nights prior will you be there for?

Well making a few last minute changes to our fantasy football league before i get ready to set sail.

. I love NFL football...just hope nobody gets hurt that is on my teams between now and then i only took care of the ones that have a bye week.

I'm the same way. I have a notebook with everything in order - flight info, rental car info, directions to every destination, etc. All in pocket dividers and sheet protectors based on immediate need. DH calls it the big book of Disney.

We're staying at the Hampton Inn ocean side. We stayed there two years ago when we went on the same cruise. It's fine for one night and I get it free with hilton points. We're coming in the night before. I have to work the Friday night before we leave - it's homecoming and I can't get out of it or we'd be there on Friday evening.

Does anyone know how to check boating conditions for the FLorida coast? I've been reading some of the trip reports from more recent trips and they've had some pretty rough seas. DH will just die if we have major swells. We had one bad night on the last cruise and he refused to get out of bed no matter how many meds he took. We have the patch this time for him so I hope it helps. What a trooper for agreeing to go back!

I have been a huge fan for about 25 years now. LisaFB is a Steelers fan through Marriage.

Now on to my dilemma....how to sneak away from Lisa and the kids for a bit to catch some of the Steelers vs. Bengals game on the ship.

DH (Eric) is bringing laptop so he can try and see the Redskins game. He is a huge fan, and they play the Patriots at 415. We have a slingbox so he can watch whatever we have tivoed from anywhere we can get a signal for computer. He is going to try and sign up for some one day wireless deal I heard about in Nassau. you pay like $10 for 24hr of wireless service. Soooo much cheaper than on board pricing. Then he can watch his game, cut thru commercials and 1/2 time. I guess I could tivo Steelers game. But, I want to enjoy the sun and pool in Nassau.

DH is already said he wants to watch Monday Night Football. I told him he could record it on DVR and watch it when we come home....he told me it was not the same. I told him he could watch football anytime but not on the cruise.. LOL. I did tell him if it was on the big arial tv that we could swim and watch it but that was the ONLY way.. LOL

What princess meet and greet? I don't know anything about it but I know Jackie would LOVE it!
