Oct 2013 13 or 14 night trip, HELP

We are going to WDW, AOA in Oct 2013, prob the first half of the month. We are going to fly but I think we have decided that we would like to have a vehicle while we are there. Mostly because we dont really want to wait for the disney transportation and we are going to be going to the beach, universal a couple days, and gator land another day. Their will be six of us so we will be looking for a mini van.

My question is, How far in advance should we start price shopping for a rental?

Does anyone have suggestions they would like to share?

I'm not going to be much help. We may also need to rent a car next October. We're driving, but my daughter and her fiance might fly in from Louisiana, and they'd need to rent a car.

That said, I wouldn't even think about a car rental for another six months. Usually, rental car prices decrease as you get closer to your date.

Rental prices were high last week. That's because of the annual Garner Convention in Orlando. Chances are, the convention will be the same time next year. You might have to think about just doing the car rental for the first week), and relying on the buses for week two. That would mean, your Universal and beach days would be week one.

so car rental prices normally go down the closer you get to your travel date? I did not know that. Thanks.
