OCD Princess Planners: Flights, Frights, Food, & a ToT Race, Too!!!

Momabaarjo's Running Log:
Week 1/Day 1 Round 2

I was not planning on running this morning, okay not really running but using the ellipitcal as a treadmill, but for some reason the nagging would not stop in my mind and the clock was there shoing me I had time before getting everyone else up for the day. So when dh headed to the shower, I decided to just get it done! I am glad I did, because I am feeling really out of sorts today! Things at work are really stressful at the moment, the begininning of the year always is a mess of testing and projects...and then I feel like every night we are overscheduled with things involving the kids. The weather changed this morning...our first true cold front of the year. I am so ready for it...

Hi Emma...
We are looking at September 24th or 25th...still nailing down those details! Looks like we might be on step closer Ann got a great bounce back offer today so maybe we will have more definite plans soon!

So close to your Paris trip...and DL...still hoping to make DL this summer!

Momabaarjo's Running Log:
Week 1/Day 1 Round 3

Wahoo, I have completed Week/Day 1 three times this week! I got kind of grumpy at my not so dh today when he told me that using the ellipitcal was way different than actually running. Well at least I am getting of my hiney and really trying to do this! The weather changed to cold with a wind today. I would have liked to have done my run outside, but starting the program in the fall...well it just is not going to happen. In all this week I have worked out 5 times! WAHOO! Tomorrow is my off day...then back to the workouts on Monday!

I like how you are thinking Emma...come run with us!

I cant wait to see pictures!

I am not going back to Disney until next October, possibly May 2014. Since that is so far away, I thought I would join in your fun PTR. Can't wait to see how your trip planning goes and evenually the trip.

Momabaarjo's Training Log Week 2:
(Program Week 1/Day 2/Round 3)

This morning I finished up with my running cycle for the week by actually hitting the pavement instead of the machine in my bedroom. The weather was perfect for a run, so why not and I was up at the normal 5:15...but did not drag myself out of the house until 6:15. I hate that your body does not remember that it is the weekend (although we have a full weekend) and let you have a little pleasure of a few more minutes sleep. While I was doing do the run cycle I thought I was going to die, but you know what as I did an extra 15 minutes walking after the cycle it really was not that bad...BUT I HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO IF I PLAN ON RUNNING 10 MILES IN ABOUT 11 MONTHS!

It was a successful week in training. I managed to get in all the required 30 minutes run intervals for the week, did the non run day 30 mintues and a few bonus minutes too. I ended up with 210 minutes of exercise! I almost did not get it done yesterday, but thankfully Heather (monkmon) guilted me all day with a text saying she had hers done, how about me? That was the motivation I needed to hop on and ride! Thanks Heather.

Diet is not going so well. It has been a stressful week so I just have not really paid attention closely to what I eat. That needs to change, because I cannot keep carrying this weight on me and try to run.

PTR PLANNING UPDATE:

Last week Ann received a bounce back offer, but we ended up missing the deadline for booking because she was flying back and an NON MAGICIAL CM refused to let us book for her. GRRRR...it was a pretty good deal free dining!

Broken hearted we decided to contact a travel agent that I used to get input. If you ever need a travel agent, Michele Dranko at Pixie Vacations is the most awesome one you could use. We had her crunch numbers and did lots ot texting back and forth...decided to go ahead and book at CB since it is a race resort and then let her work the FDM (Funny Disney Math) along with her magic looking for discounts...UNTIL

Yes it always seems like drama for OCD planners and they are always changing their minds.

Ashley received a PIN for 30% off room. Wahoo! I personally think she got a pin cause she is always calling and playing on the website trying to find the best deals! And again the crazy texting keeps going around...

Here is what we are working with at the moment...but it has not been made official.

*6 Confirmed Princess Planners Going (Betsy and Susan are still waiting till closer to confirm)
*POP Resort (2 rooms, connecting)
*Regular Dining Plan
*5 Day Park Tickets
*Depart September 29th

We are still tossing around
*September 24 or 25 as our first day
*Park Hoppers (I personally dont think they are necessary if we plan accordingly)

Sounds great! I have a PAP, but I'm not much of a fan of park hopping. Depending where you are hopping to or from, and how crowded it is, you can waste alot of time on transportation.

Right Ann? Took forever for you to get to CSR for lunch!

So glad you were able to crunch numbers and get a good deal! Pop is a fun resort and now that they have those mini-refrigerators it makes it so much nicer!

You are totally going to kick but at the 10miler next year! For fear of you being a bit grumpy with me... I am reluctant to say... your dh is right. It is good to have other forms of exercise, but training for a race... well, it is different to run. Running road vs. treadmill is also different. Bottom line... races on the roads.. so road experience is what helps the most. :duck:

I think you are doing great... and maybe don't worry about the diet. I mean..don't go crazy... but listen to your body. Today I was feeling pretty ooky. I ran that 10k and then forgot to take my insulin regulating meds...normally I take in the morning and it was 3pm before I remembered :faint: I went to Jack in the Box (do you have them there?) had a burger (the small one) and a taco and some fries (not an entire package..just a few). I can't imagine that was low on the calories or fat, but I felt SOOO much better after I ate that..

Sounds great! I have a PAP, but I'm not much of a fan of park hopping. Depending where you are hopping to or from, and how crowded it is, you can waste alot of time on transportation.

I agree.. the hopping just wasn't for me. It was nice to have Zoe's bbb in the castle and then be able to go to Akershus for lunch... but other than that...It was more of a hassle.

Momabaarjo's Training Log Week 3:
(Program Week 1/Day 3/Round 3)

This morning was a morning I had been looking forward to all week...really did that just come out of my mouth, me looking forward to running?! :confused3 I am taking a personal day today so we can drive to Waco/Baylor University (about 8 hours) to watch Ab run in the state x-country meet for private schools...so with a personal day and not leaving for our little road trip until mid morning I figured I could get a day of actually running done! But before I tell you what happened, lets recap the week.

It has been another really good week of training. I have 200 min of cardio in for the week (my goal is 180 each week) even with missing tomorrow because of the meet. On Tuesday, I was really proud of myself as I walked 3 miles at a little under 17 minutes per mile. It was such a beautiful evening...I had taken Ab to a volleyball game and I took advantage and walked at a nearby park while she was socializing with friends.

My eating has been really off again this week and the effects of premenopause have really reared their ugly head this week so I have been off physically, mentally and emotionly...combined with job stress. I plan on Monday to get it under control and start checking in daily on our PTR Facebook page so that some one is guilting me or giving me some accountabilty...much like this running thing. Each workout we check in to guilt everyone else into going and getting theirs done, which is working quite nicely as motivation...

Back to this morning, I rolled out of bed at 6:15 (boy that extra hour plus was sure nice), dressed and realized that the cold front had moved in and the temp outside was near 40. So I grabbed my fleece and ear warmer band and headed out the door and into the car to a nearby park...only place I really feel safe as there are a couple of other people who are walking at this time)...got the ipod ready for the walk with the c210K app and started on my way...when I got to the jogging part things started to go downhill...allergies combined with cold air and jogging make for allergy induced asthma that I was really not prepared to deal with...I tried breathing as deep as I could but could not get air, but I continued on because other than my lungs my body was enjoying the run (did I say that? enjoying a run ::yes::) but as I continued with the walk/jog cycle getting my breathing under control in the walking phase but each time it was taking me longer to recover...finally after a little over half way into the workout I had to give up the jogging and just run...which really bums me because I was on pace for around a 15 minute mile! I finished the workout walking...disappointed but now I know I need to get to the doctor and get this things worked out...I have never dealt with asthma until the last couple of years during the fall and the allergies. UGH...so much for looking forward to this morning and my run.

Oh, Tammie! I hope you get that under control! Cold air doesn't help! I have asthma and a heart arythmia- both have got much better over the last 6 months, but I still am cautious. Pushing too hard too fast and my lungs react.... That being said there have only been a few time I saw the signs and had to slow down. As sad and frustrating as that is- good for you for doing that! Especially when otherwise you were having a good run. Actually- I wonder maybe it was BECAUSE you were (and of course the colder air and allergies) You will get there! I wonder if depending on how bad the asthma is- if once your lungs get stronger it will happen less. That certainly seems to be the case with me... But the "air so cold you can see your breath. " hasn't started yet. I appreciate you posting about your experience cause I am gonna have to watch out myself.

Momabaarjo's Training Log Week 4:
(C210k Program Week 2/Day 1)

I can't believe that I have stuck with this now for 4 weeks! That is a major feat inself! This week went pretty well exercise wise, although Wednesday and Thursday found me really unmotivated to get it down. On Monday I did both my program day on the ellipitcal in the morning and then in the evening outside while Goo was at soccer practice...An hour of exercise in a day, WAHOO!! I wanted to test the breathing issues I had last Friday and found that it had to be the cold air and lack of allergy medicine that morning because other than the heavy breathing (due to too many extra pounds being carried) I was okay. I had planned to run again on Wednesday during soccer practice but I had trained teachers all day and I have forgotten what it was like to stand all day long and on top of it I wore stupid shoes! I was not planning on doing any at all just sit in the car but I had a nagging voice of my fellow OCD princesses lecturing me, so I got up and walked for 40 minutes...not fast but got the body moving.

Eating was better this week, until yesterday...I have challenged myself to start logging in all that I eat and really keep myself accountable and found thread for accountability on sparkpeople...so maybe I can get this issue under control.

Exercise is the best cure for all that is wrong with us. I am so worried about getting type 2...and need to figure this eating thing out.

I only seem every few years to have to deal with seasonal asthma...and this has been a hard allergy season...

Thanks Ann for all the encouragement...and thank you for sharing your struggles and accomplishments with this whole running thing! I never thought I would ever consider running...funny what friends and trying to justify a girls trip to my husband back to WDW does with that idea....:rotfl2:
