OCD Princess Planners: Flights, Frights, Food, & a ToT Race, Too!!!

Now that we have settled on an idea/theme for MNSSHP...the race costume comes into focus. Since this is all about the Disney Villains my mind got thinking what villain should I be...somebody that I could have fun with. So I started looking through the Disney Villains and landed on...

She is fun, a villain, and is dressed in my favorite color...SHADES of Green! And most of all she has a great villain sister and villain mother...wahoo, the 3 of us (Ann, Amy and myself) can go in theme and have lots of fun with these characters!

I thought I wanted a sparkle skirt, but after trying to find lime green leggings and having no luck I stumbled on a more practical idea in my search...

I could put together a Drizella inspired run outfit that I could wear again...and I even found things for Amy. Plus I have a friend who does BLING to shirts...maybe add a little WICKED STEP_____ on the Tee...

And Ann can still get the new sparkle RED skirt that she wants! :woohoo:

GET YOUR HINEY MOVING TO WDW UPDATE
JUNE 23

I have FINALLY made it out of Texas and into...

but still on I-20 headed east and through the city of

Shreveport, before stopping in the town of Red Chute.

I have travel 560 miles, only 901 miles to go! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Sadly it seems like you aren't running through our fair city! You could stop for some beignets along the way.... or some real jambalaya.. I still need to send you those packs to try versus the "jambalaya soup" mix!!!! :rotfl:

Sorry I have been MIA, but I've been working like a crazy person.

My fiance has pretty much been jobless since December. He went round and round with a few companies. Both companies screwed him over.

One was a branch off of ATT Uverse. After spending quite a bit of money on business clothes, after two weeks he showed up at the office and no one was there for like 3 days in a row. Then when he finally talked to someone, they told him that since HE stopped showing up that they didnt owe him any money.

The second was for Rainbow vacuum. After a month he started hearing from friends and family that other people were going to see their contacts and not Buddy. The company reps sold 3 vacuums to his contacts, and he never even knew about the demo sessions. When he brought it up to his manager, it escalated into a shouting match basically about them just writing off salesmen who don't make a sale in there first week or two, so they give all the family and friend contacts to old sales people.

So he has been apply places every week with either no responses or gotten through 2-3 levels of the interview processes with no call backs at the end. About a month ago, my client mentioned that he had a maintenance position open at his hotel. Hey, a job that pays less than zero is still a job. He went and applied, and my client told him that he had also had just fired his night time desk guy the night before. So he applied for both. We waited around all weekend while they did the background check. Low and behold, a few days later, he called to give him the night time reception position! 40 hours a week at quite a bit more than minimum wage! Lots of pixie dust happening.

So some of the weight off my shoulders! :worship::worship::worship:

But we are moving this weekend, so its going to be a crazy few days.

But I wanted to come post what I think is going to be my outfit for the MNSSHP.

I know you can't see this picture well.. Best I could do.. They are pale yellow super skinny jeans!

Going to find a red bow for my hair and going to try to find some apple red bow type jewelry.

:)

For our costume for MNSSHP we have decided to go a different route. Rather than making the aprons (my sewing machine has basically died) or purchasing a costume that it is doubtful we would wear again...Ashley has talked us into going a different route...thanks to her love affair for pinterest and Disney inspired fashion. We are going with the Disney Princess Inspired Outfit Route...going classy for the party. Not sure Halloweenish this is, but we still get to be true to our princess.

To refresh memories I am Aurora and here is the outfit I have come up with...

I am really hoping that I don't look like a big wad of pink bubble gum or worse yet a big bottle of peptobismal. What do you think?

I think it's adorable!

Tammie's ToT Training
Galloways 10K Week 4
June 23-30

June24 (Curves): Another Curves Workout completed.

June 25 (Short Run Day/36 minutes + Curves Workout): Today the training got bumped up by 5 minutes...instead of 31 minute short run it is now 36 minutes. Today's run was that of a sprinkler war, while I love to run in the morning (hate to get up) the city also takes advantage of the cooler temps and I found myself dodging sprinklers at the park the entire run. The entire run felt really off, not sure why but in the end when I got my pace I was SHOCKED...my best pace ever (even at a longer distance) 13.5 minute/mile over 3 miles.:banana:

June 26 (Curves): Another Curves workout completed

June 27 (Short Run Day/36 minutes + Curves): Another early morning at the park and another short run day. The workout went well, all except for 2 stray dogs that gave me a fright. I hate dogs that are let to roam lose and this morning I met up with 2 and one proved to not be very nice. I thought I would run past them and act calm (griping my spray bottle of mace in my hand)...they were near some trees away from the path), but one of them did not like my plan and bared his teeth and looked as if he would come at me. I stopped and tried to scare him back with my words, all the time he kept slowly approaching and I am trying to get mace to work...which was not happening...so I backed away and made a large arch around them and went on my way. Great help that mace would have been! The rest of the run was watching the dogs location and making sure that I avoided them. In the end I ended up with a nice pace 13.6 minute mile. Afterwards, I messed with the mace spray and discovered I needed to use 2 hand to press down on the spray in order for it to work. I also got in a Curves workout! That makes 4 times this week, WAHOO!

June 28: I had hoped to head to Curves right after I finished my last day of summer school round 1, but instead we hopped in Jeff's truck and made a trip to Denver, a VERY FAST TRIP!

June 29: Today was my 45th birthday :sad::sad::sad: and I had planned to do a 5K to celebrate but life got in the way with an unexpected quick 7 hour trip to and from Denver. Long story short, my 1997 gas guzzling Ford Expedition was about to need some major repairs, so it was time to be replaced and driving 7 hours saved me $6000. I love my birthday present to myself (for the next 5 years)...although I am not thrilled with the car payments!

Goo would have rather me gotten this one...

June 30 (Long Run Day/56 minutes): Yesterday was going to be my long run day, but since we were traveling I could not get it in. So today, I got my long run in. I ended up running 4.1 miles in 56 minutes for a 13.9 minute mile pace, a little disappointing and I really had to push myself on the run but I did it.

Galloways 10K Week 5
July 1-7

Monday, after signing all the paperwork with the bank and insurance company we loaded up and headed to our cabin in New Mexico for a 4th of July week with family and friends...and yes, I brought my running things!

July 2 (Short Run Day/36 minutes): This morning I got up bright and early to head out for my short run day. Before heading out, I thought about grabbing a jacket, but knew that even though it said 45 degrees that by the time I got into my workout I would not need it. Gotta love cool morning in the mountains. My plan was to run DOWN our road into the little neighboring town (just about 3 miles) and then walk back up the road...and that is exactly what I did. What a beautiful morning full of low laying clouds, beautiful scenery all around me, and wonderful wildflowers. I finished my run portion into town at the Catholic Parish were I decided to sit down and recite the rosary, after which I headed back up the road. I have to tell you that running downhill on a gravel road is not a lot of fun, I was constantly watching my footing and I was WORN out and SORE the rest of the day...even enough to take aspirin to help my soreness. In the end I had an amazing pace of 13.0 minute mile...gotta love downhill!

July 4 (Short Run Day/36 minutes): This morning was a repeat of the prior run, this time my pace was slower 13.6 minute mile.

I had planned to do a long run too on Saturday, July 6 but we got in such a rush to pack and get home in time to get the 2 older kids to their event that I just could not squeeze it in. I had planned to do the long run then on Sunday, but I let my mind control my willpower and decided not to run, but sleep....think I was trying to avoid my longest distance to date at 6 miles.

Tammie's ToT Training
Galloways 10K Week 6
July 8-14

Okay, so I did not make my long run this week...I will just do it this Saturday at least I ran right?

Monday, July 8 (Curves): Another curves workout BUT my left lower leg on the inside is feeling off and dull pain while I am working out. :confused3 Please, no shin splints.

Tuesday, July 9 (Short Run + Curves): It was a short run day and I was anxious go get out and see if I experience the same pain as yesterday during my Curves workout. So with each step I was holding my breath and about a mile into it the pain appeared and my heart sunk. New location for pain...great! I pushed through the pain, never did it get bad enough to slow down or quit. I ended up doing 3 miles with a 14.1 minute pace. Disappointing! That afternoon I did another Curves workout and decided that maybe I strained too much last week running downhill on a gravel surface, take the week off and see what rest will do...making sure I get all my stretches and massages in.

Tammie's ToT Training
Galloways 10K Week 7
July 15-21

After a weeks rest of the leg, I was really hoping to put the new leg issue behind me. No, I had not gone to the doctor to have it checked out but talked to a PT friend who thought my leg pain might be a rarer form of shin splints on the inside and gave me a bunch of stretches and exercises to do and I was feeling pretty good.

Monday, July 15 (Curves): Got back in for a workout but I skipped all the leg machines.

Tuesday, July 16 (Short Run/Curves): Today was the say to test if the rest, stretching, and exercises had helped any...a 3 mile run was up. Right away I felt the left lower leg pain, nothing that really hurt...just a nuisance once again. I did not push for time/speed, but just pushed myself to finish the 3 miles...which I did with a 14.6 minute mile pace. Not happy with that at all, but am happy I finished. Another workout at Curves finished the day.

Wednesday, July 17 (Curves): Today the leg was bothering me while walking somewhat but as the day continued it felt better so I stopped in for a workout at curves...avoiding the leg machines.

Thursday, July 18 (Short Run/Curves): Another morning run scheduled, and I was feeling strong enough to push it for pace. The entire time my leg was letting me know that things were still not right or good...but I pushed through and ended up with at 13.8 minute mile pace over 3 miles...which I was happy about but still nagging concern about what was happening with leg. I did another curves workout, again avoiding the leg machines.

Friday, July 19 (Curves): Today was not a good morning, I awoke to my leg really hurting as I even went about walking and when I got to Curves I could barely do the recovery boards where you do stationary running between the machines. BUT I MADE IT 5 WORKOUTS THIS WEEK AT CURVES! I decided that I would stop at the urgent care center down the street and get an x-ray done just to make sure that there was not a stress fracture.

Good news, no fracture. The NP that a saw just happens to be a big time runner...I see her at all the races. She and I talked at quite length about running and injuries and she too leaned towards shin splints. GRRRR...she went through a checklist of things to do for them...and of course I was doing them and some that she had not heard of. She told me if I wanted to try to push through another run but if the leg continued she gave me a referral to a sports medicine doctor.

Saturday, July 20 (Long Run-4 miles): I was supposed to do a 10k today, but it seems like a pattern the last couple of races that I have been signed up for that I cancel out. Driving to the park, I had decided just to do another short run to test the leg but by the time I started I clicked my app to a longer run of 4 miles. Throughout the run the leg gave me issues but never during the run did it hurt enough to stop, but by the time that I started into my walk cool down it was difficult to even walk and then throughout the day it hurt to walk. I did notice that my right leg was sore and that I was overcompensating for the left leg. I finished 4 miles at a 14.2 minute mile pace...but I finished.

Update: By the end of Saturday I was walking back to normal, a little discomfort this morning (Sunday). Yes, I am considering the sports doctor...

GET YOUR HINEY TO WDW UPDATE
JULY 21

This update finds me still working my way across Louisiana...

I have traveled 617 miles since January 1st and have 845 miles left to WDW.

Wow! Way to keep plugging away even with injuries. I hope you get it checked out, can't hurt, right?

Happy belated birthday! Love the new car, and that's some serious change you saved.

Pretty pretty run, love the wildflowers but I'm sorry the gravel was so mean to you!

Lets see...

Love the new car. Congrats on saving so much!

Love the pictures from your run. So pretty!

The outfits you both have found are gonna work nicely for MNSSHP. I need to work on mine still. I got green pants... and they work...but honestly, I think I would like a slightly bigger size. The were clearanced online and only had the one size. I figured it was worth a shot....and I can get into them... and they don't kill me or anything...but I think next size up would maybe not be SO skin tight. Shirts are all pretty plain... not sure how much a tee can be dressed up.

The running shirts you found will go PERFECT with the skirts you made for you and Amy!!! So cute! I am not sure what I am doing. In some ways I want that red sparkle skirt...and could possibly justify the expense cause I could run again in it for the donald. It is a tad pricey though for just a skirt. I may just go with a simple red skirt and a grey tank. My shoes wont match though... and that will bug me. Oh well.... I am NOT buying a new pair of shoes. These cost me a small fortune and the are GOING to last me.

I really am sorry that you are struggling with your leg so, Tammie. I wish it wasn't the case.

So in talking with the gals we decided it would be a good idea to establish some must do's. I suspect we are all at different places when it comes to how much park time we "need" verses how much resort time.

So lets see. For me....

In MK I will need to have a group shot in front of the castle.

Kinda like this one.

I HAVE to make it to see this

Will this be going on our trip? I do so love this...and I know it is not long for this world.

A day time parade will be important.

I can't miss my favorite 3D show.

An early morning breakfast to grab some of these is a must!

HAVE to ride this at LEAST once on the trip.. if not 2..3..4 times. :hyper:

I wanted to eat one of these

but I suspect it may end up being more like one of these.

Even though I am horrible at this I will still want to do this once

This one could be a couple times. Not because I would be heartbroken not to, but it sure is a nice break.

This really isn't something I have to, but I certainly wouldn't want to deprive the rest of the princesses from seeing this.

I know as princesses I should want us to go meet more of the same... but a special gal is more a priority for me.

Seeing this princesses journey will be a must since it will be new for most of us.

I must dine here.

Here is another one I wouldn't mind going on a couple times...

Standing in line for this ride is always fun!

I know this isn't technically in MK, but wouldn't this be fun?

Lunch here would be yummy.

The best fireworks ever will be during MNSSHP, so I HAVE to see it. But if not, a normal viewing of Wishes will suffice.

So a recap of what I would like to do in order to have a perfect trip to MK.

Eat a tuna sandwich at CHH.
Grab a cinnamon roll...somewhere.
Have tea at the GVTR
Have a meal at BOG.
Have breakfast pre RD at CP.

Have a group picture in front of the castle.
Have a group picture with Minnie in her circus attire.

See the RD ceremony.
Watch an afternoon parade.
See Wishes (preferably Hallowishes)

Watch the CBJ.
See Mickey's Philharmagic.
Experience Story Time with Belle.

Before I comment on Ann’s MK must do list…here is mine!

I keep claiming that this is going to be a non-commando trip, but more of a relaxing trip for me, but there is one commando habit that I refuse to give up…

I simply have to make rope drop! There is something about the train pulling into the station and all the waving characters that brings tears of joy to my eyes! Then once I am through the tunnel onto Mainstreet the first thing I want to do is take in all the wonderful fall decorations! I have seen Disney in the summer and during Christmas, now I cant wait to see it in the fall. I want to take a leisurely stroll down mainstreet and take in all that mainstreet has to offer…no rushing allowed!

But before I take my stroll down mainstreet I want a chance to ride a complete loop around MK on…

I know it is supposed to be closed for refurbs during our stay, but I think on arrival day it is still running. I also want to stop in and get a picture with the mouse himself and then we have to each get a picture with our princess!

After my stroll down mainstreet I want to of course have a picture taken with my girls in front of…

And for a few moments just stand in awe and wish my kids were with me…(just for a moment that part). Then I want to walk through the castle and take some time enjoying the mosaics on the wall and touch the glass slipper. From there I want to enter into the new fantasyland and take it all in…visiting both Belle and Ariel in their new places,

as well as watch my favorite show in all of WDW…

This time I will throw my 3D glasses in the bin and not my sunglasses!

After visiting Fantasyland, I want to really explore all the shops and places in liberty square! I have never taken the time to go in any of them.

I simply have to ride

and

But first I have to enjoy the line!

And during MNSSHP take my picture with…

Then it is off to adventureland where I have to ride my children’s favorite

And then just spend a few moments with my favorite pirate (although he makes a poor Indian).

Sometime during the day I have to take in a parade

Since my family never allowed me the time.

I also have to see the MNSSHP parade! In Tomorrowland I have to ride

And of course I have to end my day as many times as I can watching…

Turn colors and

As for eating…

(I understand there is a pumpkin spice one at Sleepy Hallow just for fall!)

Ride/Attraction Recap:
1. Buzz Lightyear
2. Peoplemover
3. Mickey’s Philharmagic
4. Liberty Belle
5. Disney World Train
6. POTC
7. Haunted Mansion
8. Jungle Cruise

*But I am willing to ride anything anyone wants too...

Most of all I want to hunt for
,
enjoy the atmosphere and the ladies I am with!

Ann our lists are so similar! :rotfl2: I would love to do the tea party at GF! Maybe we can put that on our Princess 1/2 in 2015 with our daughters!

I think I nearly squealed reading all your must do's Tammie. So cool! Only two things are not on my must do and really... I can TOTALLY do them!!!

I didn't post a lot about the halloween aspect. I mean... I assume we will take in everything the party has to offer... trick or treating to parade to hallowishes. OMG! SOO FUN!!!

I will share one decoration I really and truly wish we could see... but I don't think it will be possible.

I am sure this will be around in some variation though... just not on Mickey's house.

So here is my list... Sadly it won't have pictures.

1.) Peter Pan - its closing on the 30th for Refurb.... But it is also one of the things like Country Bears slated to possibly close for good.

2.) Entire Circuit of the Walt Disney World Railroad. Haven't ridden the entire circuit since probably 2006... Maybe even before then. It is also going into refurb on the 30th... Don't know why they didnt refurb it with the fantasy lad expansion with the "Toontown Station" being closed

^^ for those two rides (and Ging's love for chocolate at the F&W Fest) we are coming in half a day earlier. I don't care if all I get is 30 minutes before the park closes to the public for MNsSHP... I'm riding those two on the 29th!!

My castle... Disney isn't Disney for me till I have seen the castle... And riding by and seeing it on the monorail is not the same... I don't want to jut see it.. I want to walk down Main Street with the balloon venders and people everywhere to get to it.
Entire New Fantasyland ASAP.

I always want to do Country Bears and Carousel of Progress just in case Disney decides this year is the one they will shut down on.

I love walking the shops. My favorite is the little shop tucked under the walkway between Fantasy Land and Liberty Square.

I always need a Pecos Bill hamburgers with a ton of mushrooms from the Build a Burger bar, a turkey leg, and a Dole Whip.

Sooo

Rides:
Jungle Cruise
POTC
BTMRR
Haunted Mansion ( and the new shopping area with the theme items... Hehe)
IASW
Peter Pan
Dumbo
... Okay so all of fantasyland... I could live there.

Carousel of Progress
People Mover

Shows
Country Bears
Mickeys Philharmonic Magic

Oh and I do want to see the PArades.. Haven't seen the day time parades iN probably a decade.... And you couldn't keep me away from Wishes at its slated time to start... starlight.. Star bright.... First star I see tonight... :)

:rotfl2: I think we are not gonna want to miss ANYTHING! Well... I dind't see stiches great escape on there... or laugh floor. Oh.. no astro orbitor either. ;)
