We have 3 children, the youngest is 1 1/2 years. I know according to Disney, we are actually counted as a family of 4 since the youngest is less than 3, so we would only need 1 room at a resort. Are the rules the same for DVC? Do we qualify for a 1 bedroom that sleeps 4 or would we need a 2 bedroom? We would be trading into DVC through II and in the past with II we have had to count the baby in our head count and needing something that sleeps 6 instead of 4.

DVC rules are the same as the rest of Disney. You could stay in a studio or a one bedroom.

I would go for the one bedroom so you'll have room for the crib and have the washer and dryer .. not to mention a seperate bedroom for mom and dad! :)

Officially, you would need a two bedroom. However, DVC has stated a policy (unofficial because it is not part of the Public Offering Statement) of allowing 1 child under three not to count toward room occupancy limits, and allowing 5 in a 1 bedroom (regardless of age, but also including the young child according to most posts). So, you should be fine.
