I am thinking about our Dec 2014 ( or Jan 2015) DVC vacay and I was trying to find the posts that list the resorts that are booked for certain months. I know it is kinda early and my months are not booked - just curious about where to find this info when I need it.
I would like to think I could plan for this trip in late April / early May w/out missing out on booking a villa... although on David's Disney page he points out a few resorts need booked by 10-11 month early...
I am looking at AKL, BWV or OKW.

The availability threads disappeared some time ago, when DVC went to online booking. If you wish to book for any part of December, the first few days of January, or marathon week in January, then you need to book as early as you can. The larger resorts will likely have availability under seven months, but it may be split-stays.

If your dates and desired resort are flexible, you have plenty of time before you need to rent. If you've decided you "have to stay at VGF the second week in December," then you'd better book in a couple weeks from now (if there are points available via the rental broker to book, of course.)

If you're renting, the beauty is you've really lost nothing if there is no availability. For members, the general answer is that Dec can be difficult and Jan easier though for 2 of the 3 resorts you listed, you should be OK at AKV or OKW but are likely to have issues at BWV and essentially guaranteed to have issues at BWV for Dec and likely for any time at BWV for the standard or BW views.

Just to clarify, Occupancy is usually the word to describe how many people will fit in a room (and can be contentious, so those threads are usually sent to one thread) while I think you are looking for availability threads.

so the "availability" threads are gone too? I was thinking January was a slow time for the parks - when is Marathon week?

Yes, once members had the availability to online booking, we discontinued that thread. Things change minute by minute so until you are ready to reserve, what is available or booked could be different at the time of the booking.

And, since we have asked that members not look up and post availability for others, I am going to close this thread.
