Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

May I ask a question in response? Why does it matter? Does saluting the flag make you a better person? A better American? If you salute the flag in the morning does that make up for say.... authorizing an un-Constitutional wiretap in the afternoon? Does reciting the pledge make you smarter, more able to run the country? If you say the pledge does that make up for say....giving a lucrative government contract to one of your old cronies?

Can someone tell me why these outward signs of "patriotism" matter more than what a person actually does?

I was just asking the question because someone had told me about it. I thought I could come on here to the Obama thread and get the reason, whether true or not. I didn't get the email.

Sorry.

No reason to apologize but its extremely disheartening to see people believe a smear email going around that has been debunked many times.

Seriously, the best thing you can do is let the informer know that they are spreading rumors. Just a few words from you can really help. :cool1:

(And keep the snopes link handy if they're still confused.:goodvibes )

Barack came to my dd's school and I got to shake his hand and he signed his name on the school wall. He was very personable and intelligent!! He will definately get my vote in November!!

May I ask in what State? Was this in Mississippi? Will you be voting in your Primary?

Anyhow, this is very cool for your DD's school!!

No need to be sorry, but if someone did tell you that, please pass the correct information on.... this keeps popping up every few weeks, and I think we get a bit tired of what was a smear campaign getting such traction in the first place.... there's no place for misinformation like this to keep circulating...

You don't have to apologize but seriously - what you heard isn't true and even if it were true, why would it matter?

I think we had a really great news day today, and Hillary's campaign blunders certainly helped us out today. :thumbsup2

Let's hope it results in some good numbers tomorrow.

Just ran across something-Did you think you'd ever hear the likes of this from Hillary's bud, Rendell??? He must be reading some not so good polling numbers...
First they say Obama made one good speech, then they say Obama isn't remotely qualified, today they say....

Rendell: Obama-Clinton Would Be Okay Too

"Sen. Barack Obama blasted Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday for suggesting that he should serve as her vice president. But how would he feel about an Obama-Clinton ticket?

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D), Clinton's top supporter in the state, said he would be open to the Illinois senator as the Democratic presidential candidate and Clinton as his running mate.

"That would be great either way," Rendell said of a joint-ticket between the pair. "I'd be happier if she were the presidential candidate, but I think that would be a good thing. We need to come together."

I guess her 25 point lead isn't holding up and will be much closer than she expects. If he can't deliver PA to her, he can kick his cabinet dreams to the curb (which is probably why he is starting on his Obama/Clinton ticket hopes).

WOW! He must be drinking something good to have come up with this today... Just think though everyone... Look how much time Obama had in Iowa, he pulled a big upset, the polls for PA aren't that far apart anymore, some say less than ten points, anywhere from 6-14%, if Obama can do what he did in Iowa on the ground, he has a really good chance at actually pulling this state out, or coming narrowly close. I only hope that if Michigan and Florida are back into play he will have the time necessary to campaign there....

At this point we can be almost certain of a delegate lead, we need to keep the popular vote like we have it... if the campaign can do that, then Super's essentially will be pulling this out from underneath Obama & I do not think the DNC wants to see that happen...

But, it is still a close race, with only about 600K popular votes between them...

::yes:: ::yes::

I think its all about the popular vote. We have a 2.5% lead right now.

It's time for all of us to be phone banking for Obama IMHO... every vote will count and every call will count...
