One thing she said that I don't think is accurate, is that Medicare is mandatory, and she used that as one of her talking points as to why it should be mandatory... BUT, I am all but certain Medicare is NOT mandatory, although probably most if not all seniors do sign up for it.

Taking Medicare coverage isn't mandatory, but paying Medicare taxes is mandatory.

You are correct. Medicare taxes are mandatory while you are working.

If you retire and choose NOT to take medicare coverage you do not have to pay the medicare premiums. I know of a CPA retired from the federal government who has done that. He has great coverage and is happy with that being his primary care provider as opposed to Medicare.

My Dad is doing the same thing. He has FEHB (which is the plan that both Hillary and Obama are basing their Health Care plans on) and he figures if he doesn't take Medicare it leaves more money out there for someone who really needs it.

Add me to the list of Dis Obama supporters!

Unfortunately I can't vote in my state's primary because I'm a registered independent, but I'll be volunteering on his behalf!

Glad to see so many other supporters!

Cheers,
Josh

Many employers have now changed retiree benefits so when they qualify for Medicare they are off the company plan. My former employer (who was one of the largest law firms in the country) was in the process of doing that when I left and my best friend's mom just turned 65 and got booted from her father's union plan. Retiree benefits that people have worked for and are counting on, just may not be there when the time comes.

Well, if you listen to some on the other side-those retirees should have been more responsible and saved their money to be prepared for this sort of thing to happen. They shouldn't be sitting around expecting "us" to bail them out with our tax dollars.

Okay, she has gone off the deep end. Is it me or does she look like O'Reilly or Rush when she acts this petty?

She's in the fight of her life, Tim. She never expected to have to do this, and clearly her campaign was not prepared for it. I hate negative campaigning but I won't throw away all the good things about her because she's resorted to it. If she wins the nomination honestly I will be supporting her with all the energy I can muster.

Just because she didn't expect to be here doesn't give her an excuse to discount the millions of Americans who already cast their vote for Obama and suggest its all some type of fairy tale. I don't care how much of a fight that she is in, she shouldn't resort to this type of campaigning. She looks anything but Presidential.

Its interesting we hear all about her experience and ready on day one message, yet her husband helped to push through NAFTA which shes now against & she voted for the war in Iraq which she now is against. It seems that her experience isn't really helping to bring about the kind of judgment I'm looking for in the next President.

And her laughable plaigerism charges fell flat - and yet, she borrowed Bill's and John Edwards' lines the other night in the debate. I guess her 35 years of experience is really "35 years of experience you can Xerox."

So if she should win the nomination without any back room deals...what do you do then? Do you vote for McCain by casting a ballot or by staying home?

I don't like negative campaigning and I don't care who does it. I'm not all that thrilled about the Ohio flyers, I'd rather he stuck with his own goals and agenda rather than attack her, but he's doing it.

The difference is, he's attacking her with facts, not this overtheatrical BS.

Would I still vote for her if she pulls off a miracle and comes from this far back to win (again, she has to win 57% of the remaining delegates just to catch up)? Yeah, I probably would. At the same time, I'd be just as disgusted as I've been the last two times going to the polls and picking the "lesser of...who cares".

Definitely not behavior I'd want to see from a POTUS. After yesterday's tantrum I think she nailed her coffin shut though and pretty much scared away those Super Delegates she was counting on.

This whole thing has gotten slimy. I expected better from both of them.

Me too. I'm glad I'm working Tuesday night and won't be home to watch the debate. I think I'd end up turning it off anyway because I'd get so annoyed.

Actually, those Ohio fliers were responses to Clinton attack ads before the Wisconsin primary....he was responding to her commercials about him.

That video is horrible! I hope that puts the nail in her campaigns coffin!

I especially dislike the "Smart Choice" signs in the background. That totally suggests a vote for Obama is dumb...I really think this could be the beginning of the end for her.

They just said on Meet the Press that HRC has lost 5 of her pledged Super Delegates.

Obama is up 20 Super Delegate pledges. :thumbsup2

I don't know what I'd do but if I did vote for her, I'd be holding my nose and picking the lesser of two evils.

The longer it goes on like this, the worse the nominee is going to come out of it. It's just giving the Republicans more talking points.

Some blogs are calling it her Dean scream moment. I don't like the negative mailings but I think he had to address her attacks especially with that 527 airing anti-obama/pro-hillary ads.

She looks like she's gone off the deep end with that video.

I think as he wins more and more states and the pledged delegate lead increases, we'll see more supporting him. Last I saw his overall lead is up to 100, the first time the overall delegate lead is that high for him. :thumbsup2

Hillary's speech in Rhode Island, today was beyond the pale.:crazy2:

Quote: "I could stand up here and say, let's just get everybody together, let's get unified, the sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing, and everyone will know we should do the right thing, and the world will be perfect," she told a crowd that laughed at and cheered the jab at Obama's hopeful rhetoric. "... You are not going to wave a magic wand and have the special interests disappear."

If I hadn't have heard the clip from CNN with my own ears, I wouldn't have believed it. How sad. How unbecoming. How unpresidential.
